Anthagio 113
Madonna, Britney, Mariah, Whitney, Michael, and just about every other legendary musician fell out of favor with the general public. That happens with EVERYONE because the public is fickle and short-sighted. At the same time, all of those musicians also had massive comebacks where the public took interest again. A popstar's career is filled with ups and downs, that's just how it works. It's really amazing how many of Gaga's own fans seem to think she's some sort of forgettable popstar who has yet to prove herself. People act like she's Kesha (no shade) or some other popstar who people never really cared about. This is a woman who has grossed over $500,000,000 on tour, won over 250 awards, and has sold over 150,000,000 records. She is never going anywhere. Will she be less popular than her peak? Yes, no one is as popular as their peak, that's why it's called a "peak". But Gaga will continue to make music, grab headlines, and succeed.
Mills 446
I believe there's nothing to be 'scared' for Gaga's career at the moment, 'scared' in the sense that Gaga could no longer deliver decent-to-good record sales, at least for those who are concerned with her commercial brand, including the labels. It's not as if Gaga's debuting or trying to hit the top of the mainstream for the need to 'worry' about her career, she has already done that with her first three major releases. And not only did she top the charts, but she dominated them in a way only comparable to the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna, and Michael Jackson with their solo breakthrough releases at a time when illegal downloading was non-existent or rampant, or individual digital song sales were not yet dominant over traditional album sales.Within a short period of time, Gaga demonstrated a career worthy to be inducted in a Hall of Fame. I mean with her already being one of the most successful musicians of all time: 27 million albums sold, 130 million digital tracks sold, 6 GRAMMYs won, 13 VMAs among hundreds of awards, 3 massive global tours grossing more than $80 million each, top recognitions from Billboard, TIME, Forbes, RollingStone, and Guinness and not to mention her endeavours outside the music industry such as her own youth empowerment foundation, a top-selling perfume brand, her own social networking site, and all the recognitions from the socio-political and art communities... so again, is there really a need to be scared for her career when her career has already become one of the strongest, both commercially and critically, in recent history?I'm not scared, and I'm sure Gaga is not scared either. If anything, I'm sure she's proud like I am (and perhaps millions more) for her. She's also only 29 years old. So young, and yet she has achieved things most people twice or thrice of her age have already achieved.
mariomania1234 11,368
I feel like people forget the the context and what she was dealing with when the album was released. She has eliminated all that from her professional life. I have no doubt she will come back stronger that ever.
badgalriri 1,124
Seriously though, is anyone else scared for Gaga's MUSIC career? I know that she will most likely never going to be as popular as when she was during 2010-2011, but still. I feel like if the next album does as "bad" as ARTPOP or worse, then IDK what i'm gonna do. That's why i'm EXTREMELY nervous for her next album tbh. The next album, to me, will show if she is truly "over" with the general public or if she still has them. P.S. Do not say "music not the bling" slang. Gaga is dope and needs to be there on top with everyone else. Edit: It literally took two minutes for this thread to get messy. lmfao why does her next album being bad affect you. the"idk what i'm going to do" line kills me. how about u move on and find a new fave then... High King 640
I really don't care as long as the music is good. I think the album will do well and there will be some great tracks. But I understand this thread. It's normal to want your fave to be successful. If the album "flops", then people will hate on her even more, and it's never fun reading negative articles about an artist you love.
Bradley 59,108
I originally had the same worries as yours but I'd figure out if proper promotion is served, she wouldn't do that bad. She will stay around in the industry no matter how suck her luck is:It's really not that hard to gain the GP's attention, many artists who didn't have an established name had excellent breakthroughs because they just made good songs, people didn't know who they were but they liked their music. So what I'm trying to say is that as long as you make good music, you don't have to be famous to make a hit. It's not your name "LADY GAGA" which is speaking to them, it's your music which is speaking to them. One good example was Gaga's 2015 Oscar performance, that time surely wasn't her peak moment but people were talking about her because she delivered an excellent performance. Let alone Gaga has a well established name and reputation in the industry, a strong fan base, these are advantages for her.
Klou 2,414
Album sales are NOT constantly on decline tho.. 2014's sales were much better than 2012s for example. Album sales fell a lot when internet started to become popular.. But the last 4 years or something they are just stableCompare how many albums hit platinum in 2012 as compared to 2014. I clearly remember albums struggling to hit 700K for at least the first half of the year.
Bebe 17,094
Here is the thing, Gaga is already rich as ****. She funded her own video for G.U.YShe still has the capacity to create killer tracks, killer videos and killer performances.I mean, really, worst case scenario possible (which I don't see happening any time soon. This is EXTREMELY unlkely) her album doesn't perform so well and her tour is drastically downsized. She could fund and perform a tour like The Fame Ball herself and move into theaters around the world. If I can see Gaga perform and she releases great music and MV's than I don't care about anything else.I mean she has a lot of contacts within the industry too. She could call up Elton John for a duet, ask Donatella for a dress and go to Terry Richardson for a music video. It would be pretty hard for her to fall so hard at this point. She has really dug her heels into the business at this point. A couple of underperforming albums or more won't do that much harm.

Jan 219
TFM was a great era for her though. Yes she did a good job with TFM but I've just seen a video of her being so adorable during TF era over in TC's thread. And I realized she was perfection then with her nude lips, her blond bangs resting right on top of her extra long lashes. Cannot get enough FameGa rn. We need that back. SychosSoChic 9,995
She's going to be on American Horror Story. She's working on music with probably the best producer for HER. She's got the GP back on her side now, she literally just needs to release the new album. There is nothing to be worried about sis, all the conditions are clear, or at least will be until Katy remarkably announces for the release date of her album which surprisingly will be days before Gaga's album is scheduled to be released And as for you "True" and "hardcore" stans, clocking your mythological "Chart stans" or "Little Managers" or whatever the **** you call them, can say "Music not the bling" until you're blue in the face. But the reality is, if the bling was to ever run out (I know it won't), I hope you all know that RedOne does not work for free. Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us. Jan 219
Thank You. Everyone is too blind or too proud to see that FameGa is the Lady Gaga that enchanted everyone. Cheerful, chic, kitschy, elusive, adorable.
giskardsb 12,565
She needs to go back to FameGa. Everything went downhill with TFM, I just suddenly realized. That would be a horrible step backwards. She would be her own parody tribute act.
