Oscar 1,031
Well let's see. During the BTW era, the album was definitely dragged by users on here and it didn't perform as well as TFM. When TFM was released, it just so happened to be that it performed better then TF, so it was praised. ARTPOP is now being dragged and it performed worse then BTW. I'm not saying there's a correlation but...well yea we all know this anyway. My point is, if LG6/5 performs better then ARTPOP, will ARTPOP be dragged even further because by comparison to the next album, it would have performed really badly? Would it be praised if LG6/5 did worse then ARTPOP? If we're going by quality, ARTPOP isn't really worse then TF/TFM (only comparing it with these two since the 3 albums sound similar enough that they can be compared unlike BTW cuz it's just so different)The truth is, i'm not sure what i'm trying to say tbh.... NIKE 273
I think ARTPOP will receive it's credit further down the line, much later in her career.
SissyFromSpace 20,884
Well let's see. During the BTW era, the album was definitely dragged by users on here and it didn't perform as well as TFM. When TFM was released BTW is more successful than TF+TFM Nah. People will be more open towards ARTPOP. At the end of the day, its a catchy EDM/Dance/Electronic album :) My point is, if LG6/5 performs better then ARTPOP, will ARTPOP be dragged even further because by comparison to the next album Barbie elitist - Weaboo - Sissy
Oscar 1,031
I think ARTPOP will receive it's credit further down the line, much later in her career. That's fair. As long as it does one day...It deserves it.
Jed 7,716
BTW is more successful than TF+TFM I very much disagree.. In terms of first week sales sure. but in terms of number of successful singles, grammy awards, cultural awareness and overall sales (I think) BTW takes second place. TFM was the best selling album in 2010!
Jed 7,716
OT I think ARTPOP will get more praise when looking at Gaga's career in retrospect. Fortunately I think that is the case with Gaga's career in general.. People will never be able to deny her impact when they look back.
LoveandMagic 1,731
I think people are already beginning to look at it more favorably. It's not a bad album, it just had a messy era. I think people were disappointed with what the era could have been, that and there were a lot of songs people wanted that were left off. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
gagzus 15,930
it didn't perform as well as TFM. When TFM was released highest first week sales in the U.S. ever with like over 600K first week (that's excluding the Amazon deal), BTW was a record breaking chart topping single & is forever replayed at pride marches & parades with lifelong status now tbh, it sold like 5-6x more than TFM did first week overall, Judas was her most controversial single to date, the album's cover is one of the best ever according to critics & fans alike... & the albm is now considered her best album by MANY. Bad Romance & GP love in TFM era doesn't equate it performing better or actually being better tbh OT: no, if she releases a catchy lead single & a good album with catchy songs it'll do well bc that's all ppl care about nowadays

darkwolf 590
if it's not what people expect, and maybe less successful, people will be nostalgic about ARTPOP
Didymus 34,380
There's not even a correlation, it's a relation. If the next album gets better reviews and performs better, ARTPOP will turn into the underrated gem period of her career so far. If it underperforms and the music isn't received well (or it turns into a non-electronic genre), ARTPOP will probably be praised again for all the wrong reasons. The truth is, people need to see through their own **** and choose to be wiser

Rebelde 268
I, for one, LOVE the album, but the era was a mess. I'm disappointed in what the era could have been, but never was.
