Hello I'm a new fan since ARTPOP. I feel like it was so underrated

She might not release many videos off ARTPOP but her songs are good. Still hoping she released the Do What You Want video one day. I thought they filmed it already :)

The disappointment wasn't so much in the music, but how the era was handled by her label and ex-team

Single choices that were planned were scrapped and changed...the gaps between the single eras also was too long to where people forgot about ARTPOP 

There was a lack of promo as far as longevity...she did a lot for Applause but DWUW had very little and GUY was non existent due to her touring...

The tour was also fun and had a party atmosphere but definitely an obvious downgrade compared to other tours from her...

And overall the constantconstant negative media and comparisons to Katy ruined the albums credibility in the eyes of the GP...

A great album and the potential it had were ruined to elements truly out of Gaga's control...Troy was dumped as her manager, Gaga was constantly bombarded with bad press, and promo and singles fell weak

Overall I loved the album and the potential it could've had, but based on the expectations of the promises Gaga told us about...we were disappointed. No Telephone continuation...no DWUW video (I could care less), no Venus single...lack of promo, failed APP, ACT II, ARTPOP documentary, etc

 

I agree, except with the Tour Part. I loooved the artRAVE

I like it, but for me it's missing something, also the loud chunky sounds starts to grate on you after a while, plus it contain her worst song so far (JND) it's like it try's to be both commercial and experimental but fails to reach either, I still prefer it to TF and sometimes TFM though

Idk, ARTPOP the album wasn't bad, but could have been better! Some of the songs are forgettable as someone already said, and it lacks in power. I've followed her since The Fame, and this album came off as... something that had to be done, just for fun. My favorite is Born This Way album because that was really serious and she went all in for it. This reflects in her performances and the whole era. When u compare it to ARTPOP era fails and the performances, well, it's a little disappointing then. When we waited for 2 years or so to get something from her again and the we it was hyped, then that was kinda a deal breaker for me :/ So to me, I think it is more because of how the era was :P

I really like ARTPOP, but it's probably my least favorite Gaga album, and that has nothing to do with the promo of the era or chart success, musically I just don't enjoy it as much.
