Half of the list being British :legend:

I'm still amazed at how Taylor Swift skyrocketed to #2 with just 2 months of sales, I wonder where she'll land this year :udidnt:

The 5M figure for the album which her team has released via OCC is now in question then. They most probably included the album's stream and track equivalents, which IFPI didn't. That's actually rather embarrassing.

so Frozen is the only album to sell 7+ m copies since BTW

In terms of yearly sales, it's the 2nd album since Adele's 21 to move at least 10 million worldwide. But in terms of overall reported album sales, it's only 1 of the 7 albums (alongside Eminem's Recovery, Rihanna's Loud, 21, Christmas, Born This Way, and 1989) in the 2010s exceeding more than 7 million. Here are the albums with the biggest reported WW sales in the digital era prior to the 2014 IFPI report - http://gagadaily.com/topic/130682-list-of-albums-w-the-biggest-reported-ww-sales-in-the-digital-era/

And here are the biggest selling official global album sales in one year since 2010:

Rank / Title (Year of Release) / Artist / Sales in one year
1. 21 (2011) - Adele - 18.1 million units moved in 2011
2. Frozen OST (2013) - Various Artists - 10 million units moved in 2014
3. 21 (2011) - Adele - 8.3 million units moved in 2012
4. Christmas (2011) - Michael Buble - 6.8 million+ units moved in 2011*
5. Born This Way (2011) - Lady Gaga - 6.8 million units moved in 2011
6. 1989 (2014) - Taylor Swift - 6 million units moved in 2014
6. Recovery (2010) - Eminem - 6 million units moved in 2010

Note: The 2011 report didn't state the exact worldwide sales of the best-selling albums but the 2011 worldwide sales of Adele's 21 and Lady Gaga's Born This Way were later reported by the 2012 IFPI annual report and the 2011 Vivendi annual report respectively (labels' numbers are the ones reported to the IFPI). WMG didn't officially give an exact global figure for Michael Buble's Christmas in 2011 but it was ranked as the 2nd best-selling album of that year by IFPI, therefore making its 2011 sales above BTW's 6.8M sales total.
