ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Your comment made me watch through them all She was so different during this era Some people claim they wish she was more like this and more "mysterious", but I think she was a bit vain and much prefer Gaga as she is now She's thanking God as well for her success here, but now a days she doesn't make many blatant religious references like this Her reaction when she was saying that they treated her like how people treated indie rockstars It made me really happy, because she seemed really happy She did say what Didy said, but I felt like it was a lot less harsh, it was more like she loves the gays AND she supports them because they supported her. Im not too concerned when it comes to the whole chicken or the egg deal in this situation, Its a symbiotic relationship. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
TimisaMonster 31,073
I thought We R Who We R and Firework were the ones seen as acceptance songs. Those came out before BTW. Yes, my bad that's what I meant...not "after"Still...was the only one to actually use the words LGBT while the others didn't really...they just were kinda "encouragement" songs that were taken as "gay/acceptance" songs along with "Perfect" by Pink Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! TimisaMonster 31,073
I mean I guess some people may try to do so, but I think it'll only stick in the long run if you're genuine Firework was released months before Born This Way, and Teenage Dream (the album) was released even before the announcement of Born This Way Yes, but the Illuminati labels and artists foresaw Gaga's gay campaign album and wanted to claim rights Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! StrawberryBlond 13,941
But the IKAG phenomena is very real. I read a survey that 20% of young British women have engaged in same-s-x s-xual activity, but the majority don't identify as bis-xual, and the number of bi-identified is larger than the number of lesbians. This should be seen as positive and non-homophobic, rather than acting as if such s-xuality must be part of a radically other GLBT identity. And the IKAG song did really piss off homophobes in the US.Yes, but that's not quite what I'm talking about. Even I identify as straight but bi-curious. I'm referring to the danger of thinking that ALL women are naturally bis-xual and ALL women naturally want to experiment. IKAG resulted in a lot of girls at parties being encouraged to kiss each other when the song came on. I heard a lot of lesbians went through hell when this song was popular because people would allude to it every time they talked about a girl they were dating. Most lesbians hate this song because it plays into every stereotype that they hate and suggest all girls are secretly attention seekers who will gladly make an exhibition of themselves for male approval. There was apparently even a wave of "faux lesbianism" after this. More girls started experimenting and were now thinking they were bi and claiming to be part of the LGBT community when in actuality, they were experimenting not so much with girls, but with popularity and hopping on a trend.I don't think these kind of things should be seen as positive. It's undeniable that more girls than ever are using s-x to get male attention and be popular in general (the internet helps with this aim now more than ever). I read two great books about the dangers of raunch culture one of them said how nowadays it's getting harder for girls to differentiate their need for s-x from their need for attention. Most girls who kiss other girls at parties in full view of everyone else (or even call on an audience to to witness it) 9 times out of 10 aren't doing this out of geuine attraction, it's for attention. And that's precisely what IKAG played into.

craig 680
1) Most lesbians hate this song because it plays into every stereotype that they hate and suggest all girls are secretly attention seekers who will gladly make an exhibition of themselves for male approval.2) There was apparently even a wave of "faux lesbianism" after this. Some lesbians are slightly biphobic anyway, and think bis need to make up their mind which team they are playing for.2. Inevitable that is combating a prejudice against GLBT that it would flip over into certain things being cool and hip in some circles. No just from a song. (You wonder the some about some claims of being transgender or genderqueer etc).3. True, but there are far more anti-social ways of seeking attention than acting s-xy, which is fairly benign compared to what some boys do for it. Lassex 1,169
I feel like she wants to be close with her gay fans but she thinks they're the same stuff than the straight ones... We're special I love that she thinks of us in the same way than any other people tbh!
Kacey Elizabeth 900
With good reason.Nobody in pop talked about the gay community so publically like Gaga and once she did, in all her fame and glory, other little pop starlets started pushing a calculated emphasis on the gay community. Even Beyonce and Britney had never really acknowledged their gay followings. That is, of course, until their labels realized it's part of the reason why Lady Gaga lost popularity with the GP. I partly agree, but Madonna also started to talk about and supported the LGBT community in the 80s as well. Your Candy Perfume Girl
