I don't care but I'm happy she moved off the BTW attitude...

Gaga is more than just a pop star who has many gay fans...she has other views, feelings, and experiences she would like to talk about...

Was BTW not enough? :awkney:

She does not have to talk about it 24/7...it would get boring

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

Don't care, i like her for her music. I also think it's a good thing she hasn't been as vocal as before because it was starting to get tiresome.

I'd be WAY more excited if she talked about meditation, permaculture or Palestinian sovereignty.

omg I would die on the spot.

Most of her fans should deal with the fact she's not a gay icon. She said it herself.

If she doesn't want to write songs about gays or anything else, that's ok. BTW was already full of it.

I don't really care but excuse me, a huge part of the last artRAVE, especially the acoustic session, was dedicated to gay rights.

Any of those issues would be super interesting :flutter:

Is this the statement you are referring to?

"Where do I say I’m a gay icon? I never said I was a gay icon. When did that happen? Are those lyrics on the album? Absolutely not. I don’t even consider myself… I don’t even know what that word means. That was a label that was invented years ago. I’m a… [Pauses] I’m a gay supporter."

I think you are misunderstanding or mischaracterizing her statement about not being a gay icon. What she is saying in that quote is that she would never refer to herself as a gay icon because that would be presumptuous. She is more comfortable identifying as an activist because…it would be strange to call yourself an icon.

Make no mistake about it, Lady Gaga is a gay icon. She is in the upper echelon of gay icons. She is sitting comfortably next to Judy Garland and St. Sebastian in the gay icon hall of fame.

What I meant is that her music is not only for gays... Some people in her fanbase feel bad because she's not writing songs for gays anymore. She's not obliged to do so... She's not owned by gay people.

The same for people who think that because you love Lady Gaga and her music you're necessarily gay. That's stupid.

Of course gay people don't own her, her music isn't only for gay men, and liking her music doesn't mean you are necessarily gay. But her music has always had a gay sensibility, and I don't agree that she isn't writing music for gay people anymore. ARTPOP isn't as explicitly queer as Born This Way…but it's still a pretty gay record.

She kicked off ARTPOP by filming a lyric video at a gay night club, the video featured famous drag queens and a drag king. She dressed as the original gay icon Judy Garland in her GMA performance. The song Donatella reference her gay friends. She promoted the record with a prime time television special that featured duets with Elton John and RuPaul. ARTPOP is super gay, and I have no doubt that her next record will be as gay as her previous three records.

Some  songs are describing a Gay persons point of view. And BTW was clearly a message for straight people who still have homophobia.

like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true
