You can hear the pain in her voice. She was going through a rough time when this was shot. She probably really needed a friend. I'm so glad she's in a better place. Absolutely amazing performance.

I thought it was late 2013 when she was depressed (while she was recovering and after ARTPOP came out). This was shot in February 2014. I thought by that time she was feeling better.

Thank God she's in a better place. She sounded really depressed as she gave the speech. 

 

And about the performance... There was some really odd parts where she would just sing acapella and sing with a low voice. It was quiet and awkward. But then she'd erupt back to life and slay. Her vocals were really good.

Her voice is simply beautiful, even though 2013 and the beginning of 2014 was so hard on us and Gaga, throughout the 2014 and now in 2015 she is proving everyone why is she there and why they should listen when Lady Gaga sings!
