Are people here still mad about Katy? I thought it was known that she could very well write her own songs.

THR: She’s credited as a co-writer on most songs from Born This Way, what percentage of the songwriting would you say she’s responsible for?

Garibay: She doesn't need anyone to write a hit song. A lot of times, it’s 100% her. She's generous enough to give the producers who worked on this album a percentage of the songwriting for the production and whatever contributions we gave in arrangement or a few lyrical suggestions here and there.

Gaga wrote all of them, what are they talking about

Self-written, only one songwriter.

I can't at people coming here saying: it's a joke or lol not true, without knowing **** :smh:

It's actually true tho. Gaga's only written two songs by herself, You and I and Speachless.

This. She gives credit for very small tweaks like Sun Ra on Venus for Rocket #9

I do like Kathy and I know she writes (even for other artists, like with Black Widow) but.. how can this actually be true what they said?  Can someone do the math and check this?

It's technically true though?

Katy Hudson self written songs: 4

The Fame self written songs: 0

I'm aware that Gaga gives songwriting credit to the producers, but technically speaking the tweet is true. And even then: WHO CARES? Tired of Monsters being so butthurt over Katy.

Katy Perry - (debut album inlcuding bonus tracks) -  14

Lady Gaga - (The Fame, including bonus tracks) - 17

I guess they meant songs that are written ''alone'' by the artist

Gaga has two songs with only one songwriter: Y&I and Speechless.

Katy has 4 on her debut and 3 on One of the Boys.

The only truth is that they both write songs, God knows in what percentage they're self-written. Nobody has really been with either of these ladies during their writing sessions.

That said, this thread will be a disaster :awkney:

There's nothing wrong with that fact  I don't see any problem with songs being fully written or co-written or whatever, if the song is good at the end of the day then who cares :laughga: Both Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are talented songwriters, I thought most people already knew that
