Do I miss the success Gaga had in 2009? Not really. what I DO miss...

Whenever anyone says that they miss the "old" gaga from 2009, people are quick to say that they only miss it because she was popular back then.

I'm gonna say that I miss that Gaga. I haven't felt the way I used to feel about her since mid-2011, and it wasn't evident why until I went back to watch the original monster ball from 2009.

I don't miss her popularity from that time, I don't miss her looks, heck, I don't even miss her music. What I miss is her bravado. The way she carried herself. She didn't give a **** what anyone had to say, she didn't apologize for anything. And even if she did care about what people said, she never let it show.

She used to be so awesome, she used to have this "too-cool-to-even-be-real"-vibe that surrounded her. During her concerts, she would say **** like "Don't you wish you were me", "do you wanna **** me", "take my picture" and "I can do whatever the hell I want, I'm ****ing Lady Gaga". It was funny, weird, kind of off-putting, but most of all, it was cool and I loved it when she pulled **** like that.

"I'm kinda like tinkerbell. if you don't clap for her, she'll die. DO YOU WANT ME TO DIEEE SCREAM FOR MEEE".

I'm not saying I want her ot go back to how she used to be, or that I don't appreciate her now, I'm just pointing out the things I used to like about her, and those things have nothing to do with success or anything.

Thoughts? anyone else here that feels the same way?

I miss her fearlessness. I miss her being determined and WANTING to be #1 and the best...

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

yeah she wasn't afraid to admit it. and there's nothing wrong with that. I remember in one interview, when being asked if she wants to be number one, she said "of course. I don' know who would want to be second"

I think she found her pace and is comfortable in this industry now. I'm perfectly fine with this mellowed down version of her. Besides, what i fell in love with was her odd music videos that were bigger than life. Don't care unless she produces another TEOG :smh:

She's just a changing progress, like all of us are in the end, and for me it's beautiful to see every part of her she chooses to share with us. My love for her hasn't changed the slightest bit ever since she started out. "Fearless-too-cool-4-existing" Gaga was awesome, but I think that the person she is right now is awesome too. So no, I don't really miss anything. Still glad I got to see this part of her as well. :)

I liked that too! But the thing I liked even more was the mystery that was Lady Gaga. I was trying to figure out who she was for so long...

I love Gaga today and only miss these things in a nostalgic way. I liked it back then, but don't wish she was like that today because I know she's evolved and is much happier now

Why do you guys think she's not still fearless?

It's not that, it's just that she seems so apologetic this time around

yeah I feel u ... the biggest part that I didn't like in BTW era was how annoyingly kind she become like she went from "I don't give a fck about what u say about me" to "I'm sorry for letting u down"

and what I miss the most is the HAIR eras she had like when her HAIR would evole with each era like she went from straight blone bangs from TF to long curly platinum blond for BR then blonde yellow + platinum for Telephone and then shorter shorter until she went to short blonde for Alejandro ..... the first 2 months of BTW era she carried that too but when she got to shooting the TEOG video aka the first mistep in her career where she had a fight with the director after that her wigs become mess and then she went to changing those wigs every single day ...... I know alot of people like that BUT i miss the slowly evolution of the hair :gaycat:

It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely

yeah there is something different. She was just following her vision and was sure in herself, she gave everything of herself to be  on the top. She didn't care what people say, she just knew that her choices are right ones. Over the time she started to be more insecure due to some of the underperformances that occured. Maybe it was also cause she got more freedom to choose in her career and that occured after her peak so she maybe thought she was doing something wrong, but in fact downfall was completely normal after that fast rise. She seems to be in better place now and I think she is ready to conquer the world again

I completely agree.  Im glad shes happy now, but I loved that fearlessness.  She acted like she was invincible, and it made her invincible.
