hmm 979
And still 73% want to kill Jews. What kind of a paradox of them. Obviously anyone with motivations of that sort is disgusting; but to bring the thread explicitly back on topic; that's not a reason for the settlements... Luc 4,776
Don't try to say that I'm a racist or stuff. It's the terrorism in Palestine fault that they are in that miserable mess rn. Israel wants peace, Palestine doesn't. 75% of Palestinians do not think that Israel has the right to exist. Seventy-two percent backed denying the thousands of years of Jewish history in Jerusalem, 62% supported kidnapping IDF soldiers and holding them hostage, and 53% were in favor or teaching songs about hating Jews in Palestinian schools. Does that really sounds peaceful? Tell me please. It doesn't sound peaceful, but the root of those feelings is the occupation by Israel. If Israel hadn't annexated such large parts of Palestine, those feelings would be way less.If you want to fight terrorism, you have to look at the root of the terrorism. Most Palestinians are extremely dissatisfied with the Israeli occupation and oppression by Israelis, which is all backed up by Europe and the US/Canada which funds their military which then commits war crimes. That's the root of the problem. Antisemitism and extreme nationalism in the form of terrorism are the causes, which wouldn't have happened had Israel not been there. lego 44,165
Seventy-three percent agreed with a quote from the charter (and a hadith, or tradition ascribed to the prophet Muhammad) about the need to kill Jews hiding behind stones and trees." About the NEED to kill Jews That hadith talks about signs before the Judgement day and the final battle between Jews and Muslims. Obviously that means in the present day, when they are in state of war. They - Israeli Jews and Palestinians had many battles in the past and it seems they will have more in the future. It does not talk about the NEED to kill all the Jews, what kind of misinterpretation. So that 73% out of 1000 did not agree that all Jews NEED to be killed. They just believe that they will gain victory in the last battle. That is the meaning of it. FreePalestine
Luc 4,776
Israel wants peace, yet Netanyahu says if you elect me, there will be no Palestinian state. Is it ok if Arab candidate says, if you elect me there will be no Israeli/Jewish state?Hamas didn't exist before the 80s, what was the excuse for occupation and illegal settlements then? The bible?Hamas offered 10 years truce with reasonable conditions, Israel is not interested. Israel does not want peace. And those stupid statistics are all biased. You did not go and ask each person in Gaza and West Bank what they think. You are trying to generalize and dehumanize them. There was #AskHamas campaign on twitter, few official spokespeople replied, when they say "Jews" they mean Zionists and those who want to occupy their land and kill their people. It's all about the context. Now, now, don't get too far. That's the typical nationalist Islamophobe argument in my country: "When I said that we should send muslims back to their country of origin, I meant criminal muslims. Not all muslims!" is what they all say an hour after their speeches. But indeed, Hamas didn't exist back then. Israel always has an excuse, back then it was that 'they attacked us!'. That doesn't allow you to annexate parts of a country! In my opinion there should be a 2-state solution, as soon as possible. Either the 1967 boundaries or the 1947 boundaries. Either the 1967 boundaries or the 1947 boundaries.I'm just saying what they said. They might lie, but that's what they said. They see themselves as a resistance group. Most of the quotes from their "leaders"(they're so many), are taken out of context or mistranslated. If they would be such radical terrorists, would they ever participate in democratic elections, would they negotiate with Israel like they did in summer 2014, would they offer this 10 years truce plan?http://mondoweiss.net/2014/07/report-israel-conditionshttp://mondoweiss.net/2014/07/deafening-silence-proposalIf Hamas wouldn't exist, there would be some other group. Like you said, the occupation and oppression created them. I don't know any people who would just let everyone to step over them without any resistance.Netanyahu said there will be no Palestinian state, so I don't know if 2 state solution is possible? Didymus 34,380
I don't know if y'all heard, but Israel just boycotted the UN gathering about Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. From the very start, Israel has refused to join the UN Human Rights Council in this investigation and has blocked the events that were supposed to take place (yesterday this was supposed to be the presentation of the first findings of the investigation).Interestingly enough, the US representative didn't show up either, even after recent official statements that the bond with Israel may need to be revised. This makes it clear that the statements were only verbal with no plan to actually carry them out. The investigation had already been delayed because of Israel's refusal to cooperate.Contrary to the US anyway, the EU is clearly changing its voice. Its agreement to allow Human Rights Council investigators in Gaza was the first EU intervention in the area for two years.Sources are everywhere. If Israel had nothing to fear, I'm guessing they wouldn't spend so much time boycotting official gatherings. This is so ****ing annoying.

They see UN as biased towards them and it's always the same "but look what Sudanese are doing! Leave us alone, we have gay parade in Tel Aviv!"I remember Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch were banned from entering Gaza during the bombing. Like you said, what are they afraid of?They punished Palestinians for joining ICC. Have you seen this?Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are cashed strapped this winter because Israel is withholding $240 million in tax revenue to the Palestinian Authority as punishment for joining the ICC. The Los Angeles Times reports Israel cut the power to more than 700,000 Palestinians in two of Palestine’s largest urban areas, Nablus and Jenin, for more than 45 minutes “and warned that more outages are coming if Palestinian officials don’t pay millions of dollars in outstanding debt.”The irony here, of withholding the months of tax revenue while demanding payment of a debt, on top of occupation policy preventing Palestinians from being self sufficient, is not lost on anyone. http://mondoweiss.net/2015/02/hundreds-thousands-palestiniansSadistic. hmm 979
As much as the tactic of pink-washing is often used in defence of Israel's practices (a completely illogical tactic too) I do really love the Israeli pride flag http://www.haaretz.com/polopoly_fs/1.304810.1280410804!/image/1639810760.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_640/1639810760.jpg idk how to add photos now :air:
Melech 9,900
Seriously talking about gays now? How is that even related? Just be happy that at least one country in the middle east has decent rights for gays and woman. Stupid and homophobic.

Just be happy that at least one country in the middle east has decent rights for gays and woman. Stupid and homophobic. How could any of us on a Gaga forum (with most of us being gay males) be genuinely homophobic Plus; "the one Israeli state vs Muslim states" photo by you brought up gay rights long before any of us. The point being made had nothing to do with disparaging Tel Aviv pride week or any gay movement anyway; it was obvious what the point was alluding to EDIT: To put it in simple terms without meaning to speak on behalf of Lego; it was clearly aimed at people who use Israel's (laudable) gay rights as an excuse for their other breaches of human rights and war crimes.
