HDD: Madonna's Rebel Heart drops out of Top 15 in second week

It may seem like a stunt/trendy thing to do right now, but it's like the only way to avoid an album leak. A high profile release will inevitably leak during the shipment process.

Imagine the numbers ARTPOP would've pulled if the only way that music-hungry Gaga fans could hear the album was just to buy it on iTunes. They would have. But instead everybody just gets the leaked version. Most people are content with having the leaked version cause it's the first one they can get their hands on. Hell, back when I was just a casual Gaga fan, I never would've gone to the store or waste money on iTunes to buy TF or TFM because I already had the leaked version. It was enough. I sincerely hope Gaga releases on iTunes first and holds off on physical and spotify for at least a week next time. But then again, she has been quoted saying she doesn't care to trick people into buying her albums. I mean, that's essentially what it is. It's a scheme to avoid leaks and maximize sales. But maximum sales is good hype, it's good PR, and it will almost always mean better reception from critics and fans.

I'm disappointed for her, to be honest. Unlike her last couple of albums, she seemed to genuinely care about this project, and she's put so much promo into it. Oh well, at least there's the tour to look forward to.
