That they are. For example, I know a few people who have pre-ordered and are getting the physical. They know it's about the support, whereas a lot of pop fans are fine with the youtube downloading and spotify instead. What'd Nicki do to lose them? (I don't follow her much.)

her second album is pop/trash

pp was the right direction but she needs another album focused on hip-hop /urban  to get her urban fans back

Less access to a personal computer for the target audience, tbh. Spotify and stealing the music isn't as easy or an option really.

Kendrick's album deserves even more sales, imo. It's a true ALBUM in the most artistically genuine definition of the word. Lyrically amazing, vocally unique, and high quality music. It needs to get a Grammy next year.

Per the latest statistics from the U.S. Census:

"Household computer ownership and Internet use were most common in homes with relatively young householders, in households with Asian or White householders, in households with high incomes, in metropolitan areas, and in homes where house- holders reported relatively high levels of educational attainment."

The report goes on to list percentages, that show differences between metropolitan and urban, race, and income levels. The percentages show that households in metropolitan areas with low incomes have the lowest percentage of computer usage and an Internet connection in the home.

Then take it a step further and think about the individuals in low income areas. Even if they have a home computer or one of their parents own a computer, the teens in the household are less likely to own their own PC.

These are the realities of the U.S., especially in many of your large cities.

I also think rap is more album oriented genre. Pop fans are all about hits, and they got cynical about albums padded out with filler.
