AM98GJ 3,086
Well we had G.U.Y (3rd way feminism) and Swine (Rape) on ARTPOP, in terms of some global peace song, I don't really care either way, I mean if she did great, but a song can't solve the world's current problems she should stick to the kind of messages you have to look for in her music :-)
Cody Draco 2,531
Sure if they don't sound try hard like most of BTW did.
Mast 980
Well we had G.U.Y (3rd way feminism) and Swine (Rape) on ARTPOP, in terms of some global peace song, I don't really care either way, I mean if she did great, but a song can't solve the world's current problems she should stick to the kind of messages you have to look for in her music :-) Eh. G.U.Y was a cute attempt at feminism but it doesn't really do much. Sorry. It's a nice song, but it glorifies bottom power, which is not real power. Bottom power is one's ability to tap into someone else's power every now and then. Swine could have had more potential to be political. I fear that sometimes she hides too much in the duality piece of her songs, and indulges them in the party sound more than the political sound. When I hear Swine, I don't hear an important message, I hear a rave song. The incoherent lyrics don't help that case either. I'm not asking her to solve any problems. I want her to use her voice to bring attention to important issues beyond the ironies of fame and self-acceptance message she keeps capitalizing on. MichaelSimpson7 120
I don't want her to start writing any way. As a fan I am here to support her in whichever way she chooses to continue painting the canvas which is her artistic journey. Also, she has already written a very political song - Americano says hi.Wasn't Aura somewhat political? No?

Curunir 7,510
No. She will and can make what she want as an artist. Leave writing for the charts to Katy ,Iggy, and Ariana. LG's song are deep and serve a purpose. They all usually have dual meanings to them and are very complex lyrically like BTW and Swine. If what she happens to write is politically relevant so be it. but if your doing it for the sole purpose of radio play and the be "relevant" then its not art. who respects creative integrity and intellectual property, I am disgusted at how much you have copied my husband. androiduser 7,438
Honesty, I think most of her songs aren't even politically relevant

Just because she wrote one doesn't mean she has to stop.I don't see Americano mentioned in the OP?I don't mean she won't write more because has already wrote one - just the way you asked if she should write songs which are more politically relevant sounded like she has never made political music before. Psychedelic 1,098
Yes. In my very personal opinion, you can be as talented as F, but if you don't have anything to say you will just fade. Just look at Madonna, she isn't very talented in comparison to her contemporary peers, but she outlasted them because she has always had something to say!Gaga has taken that route since BTW era, I don't see why she would suddenly stop speaking her mind through her work! Michael 533
One of my deepest Gaga fantasies is for her and M.I.A. to collaborate on perfect bit of political pop.
