Still better musically than the crap that the majority of pop stars have put out recently though.

Instrumentally the album is cool, but her vocals and the lyrics don't provide enough sustinance to keep the record afloat.

I've already said it and ill say it again, this is not a great Madonna record and it does not deserve the praise. Its way overrated critically. I feel like if it gets #1 itll just validate all this nonsense people have spewing about it being her best album since Ray of Light. Confessions has yet to be dethroned, not even close.

We should be talking about the worst sales of all pop girls in last year and a half instead of if it's gonna be #1 or #2 imo.

Gaga was dragged through desert and hell for selling just as much as her peers while M will be praised just because it's #1... cuz she's an eternal Queen of Pop I guess

Aye. Talk about dining out on the past. However this ends, it is a significant come down.

the album is good production wise but her voice just doesn't have any power whatsoever.

Apparently not just by gays because her albums are amongst the most critically appreciated albums of any mainstream artist - see LAP, ROL and Music in particular.

Oh poor Gaga if people were more critical of her underperformance  ON HER THIRD/FOURTH ALBUM?! Her career should be on the rise not well you know (I do hope she makes a proper slaying comeback with her next pop record). See guys, there is a bit of a difference with these two. Madonna is on her 13th studio album and 33 years into her career and nearly sixty. She can "flop" all she can, it doesn't matter at all to her legacy. She is the most important and most succesful female recording artist ever and probably will for ever remain as such. So it's brilliant how she's doing with her new album.
