It has nothing to do with his opinion being positive or negative. Its because Sondheim is so respected and well known in the theater industry. Its kind of a big deal that he commented on it. You could argue that his opinion has more weight than just random jounalist. His opinion would have gotten its own thread if it was positive too. The people dont know Sondheim and I never heard anything from him. he is just an old guy from broadway. and Broadway is well known for having bad singers.
