I think once the "new era" comes she's gonna be crazier and more outrageous than ever. She had to tone it down so it would have more impact. I remember her sporting "toned-down" looks before ARTPOP, but once the era kicked off, the Lady Gaga the world knows in terms of fashion came back. And besides, it's clear that she loves over-the-top fashion, even from the very start. Ditching them forever to mirror the other 'normal' performers would be unimaginable. Will she continue this "toned-down" image with the next solo album? I believe she would, and I hope she does. After 4 consecutive album runs of her being "Lady Gaga" as the world knows it (i.e. "crazy fashion", provocative and "weird" imagery, the pop star with electro-pop/dance anthems), it would be refreshing for some, if not for the greater majority who were so used to the 2009-2013 Gaga, to see a full-blown era where the main focus will be towards the music, with less distractions, if none at all. As shown by the reaction towards her performance at the Oscars, the simpler is the new shocking. But then again, if she wants to wear the biggest wigs, the out of this world fashion come the next album, then let her be. It's her career, and I'll still support her either way, well as long as I'm liking what I hear with her music.
