Where's the US Army when you need it?

Where they should be... NOT on the ground. It's up to the other countries in the Middle East to lend aide to their neighboring countries, protect the innocent people in those areas and also keep these ancient artifacts safe.

They have the people and the money to step in and stop some of this madness. If they aren't willing to do it, why in the hell should the U.S. step in? It's past time for the countries in the Middle East to do something about the barbarians next door!

Because leftists and Islamists will always paint America as the bad guy is they do anything, it's decent strategy to let ISIS run wild enough to be feared and hated.

The irony that the area that spawned the world's first civilization is now under control of the most barbarous and regressive regime.

How awful... I don't get why groups throughout history try so hard to destroy certain cultures and heritage, whether it is paintings and books, or ancient sites... like just grow up.... (and I know I said that like a teenager.)

I don't find that ironic at all. How is the first civilization an opposite to ISIS?

The Middle East is doing such a fine job of that... meanwhile the US nuclear arsenal is sitting waiting to be safely disposed of, a waste of billions of dollars in Cold War weaponry... may as well dispose of those nukes on ISIS I say.

Ancient Mesopotamia was the most advanced, developed, futuristic society of it's time. Isis wants to take Iraq back to 7th century in religion/morality/justice system, they burn libraries etc. No other group controlling a state has a vision that regressive.

They're destroying heritage, they deserve to be bombed. We are already bombing them, we should use our biggest bombs. Ignorance?
