Smooth Criminal

This the first ever Lana Del Rey video that I have ever watched. The imagery is really nice...most of the film looks very picturesque but I was very confused as to what was going on. I'm sure it had some meaning, but I couldn't exactly make out what it was! :awkney:

But I must say she is very mediocre singer.

Cliched, superficial, boring and sometimes rather absurd (although not in a good way). What was the purpose of the albino man? Did he have any sort of significance or was he just used for aesthetic purposes?

A lot of pretty imagery piled into 25 mins of drivel  :coffee:

I think the albino guy was meant to find a beauty in ugliness or something.

Anyway i liked it alot, dunno why but it made me cry a bit hahah *shame* Oh and my favorite Lana song is included here (Bel Air)

So she's releasing a brand new album soon? YES. I'm so happy. And to think a lot of us were so worried that she'd actually quit x)

Do you guys think that UltraViolence will follow a similar musical style? With all the beautiful strings and such? I really hope so. Because her instrumentals on these two albums are part of the reason as to why I love her.

Speaking of instrumentals, which official instrumentals have leaked btw?

:wtf:

If you want a true mediocre singer go watch Katy Perry live. Lana is a VERY good singer.  You need to go watch ome of her performances during the Paradise tour, they are some of her best.

And you need to watch Ride by Lana if you haven't watched it, it's like Lana's best Video

I think she played it well, making out she had no inspiration all year ;) Sneaky biiiitch. I bet it'll be an early 2014 release :) March probably. Im not sure what kinda new sounds she might incorporate, but I know she'll deliver an A* record as per.

TBH Im hoping there's some controversy waiting to happen with an album title like "Ultraviolence", given it's connections with Clockwork Orange. But maybe it's just a title.

That sounds kinda offensive and he is a model but whatever.

His name is Shaun Ross and he is African American. He represented all races in one man I believe as he was Adam, both black and white and those shades encompass all other colors.  With pigment, black is the presence of all colors and white is the absence of all color. He is very symbolic this way.

It's a theme based on our worship of gods and pop culture icons and what can happen when you attempt to be like them, when enough isn't enough for you. The fall from grace as one chases their dreams and the redemption that can follow.

The way she talks about the female body and her sudden awareness of it parallels Adam and Eve's sudden awareness of their physical selves and desires after they eat the apple.

It's beautiful and is so layered with references it's almost hard to follow. Lana is the Queen of staying relevant without actually being relevant. I loved it.

Only thing missing is two kids on bikes jousting with stuff from a junkyard. That would have made this video too exciting to handle though.
