Dayum 240
LOL. This is so untrue in too many levels. To suggest that to be a REAL ARTIST, you'd have to release a record that doesn't get the love that you're hoping for is ridiculous. ARTPOP 1.0 is cynically produced. No ARTPOP 2.0 with cynically produced hits because regurgitating ain't gonna make her as successful as before. But the three other tweets. Good guy. It's that she stood by it no matter what. Not about the chart. She didn't do it TO FLOP she just released her art and pined for it like she always would have. She could have easily turned around pulled a GP stunt on the quick follow up per se... Beyonce Gaga Minaj and destroy Jessie/Ari/Nicki and snatched somethin out of it. BUT instead she kept artful and mad G.U.Y REGARDLESS of the success. she JUST DID art rather than consider any out come. www.instagram.com/theduella666

Fiona Apple 13,006
Nice of him.! I can't believe that some monsters still hate ARTPOP.!If it was as successful as Born This Way everybody would LOVE it
djBuffoon 12,030
This is just the beginning I'm pretty that in the next years people will revalue it recognizing that it's a great album Been saying it since December 2013. The album is the definition of 'underrated'. And especially if Gaga's career is as long and fruitful as it should be, ARTPOP will never truly go away. There will always be fans (present and future) who will discover, or rediscover, the music and message. Nice of him.! I can't believe that some monsters still hate ARTPOP.!If it was as successful as Born This Way everybody would LOVE it This is also 100% true. StrawberryBlond 14,344
Wonderful news and at a time when ARTPOP hasn't even been promo-ed or talked about in months, this is really meaningful. It's a good sign when fellow artists give support like this and it isn't just the artist defending themselves. Major props to him for saying that he respects her for not churning out a cash grab re-release with mega generic songs to sell a few extra thousand copies. These kind of actions need to be called out as they're far too common nowadays and the fans who have already bought the album are justifiably p***ed off. And hearing that he used to be managed by Troy Carter too? This is getting juicy. Been saying it since December 2013. The album is the definition of 'underrated'. And especially if Gaga's career is as long and fruitful as it should be, ARTPOP will never truly go away. There will always be fans (present and future) who will discover, or rediscover, the music and message. Nicely put. There are plenty of young Madonna fans who weren't born/were too young to remember her early work, but as with being a fan of an older artist, they had to listen to her entire catalogue to educate themselves, even the stuff that didn't do as well. And that's when statements like "Bedtime Stories was so under-rated" started to make their way online. Back in 1994, barely anyone had computers and even if they did, there was no forums to spout views like that. Wikipedia also ensures that every past album is chronicled, including cover art, track listing, reviews and charts. And there's YouTube and other sites which host a gigantic library of music videos as well as song download sites making buying old music really simple and means you won't have to buy a CD if you don't want to. The net has ensured that old, under-performing albums will never be forgotten. If Gaga keeps going, there's no reason to believe she won't pick up younger fans who will crave to explore her old work that was before their time. And the beauty of it is, certain albums can really age well. Maybe in the future, people will be saying that ARTPOP didn't succeed because it was so ahead of its time. I'm not saying it was or it'll happen, but it could.

I think a GP stunt back then wouldn't have helped her as much as C2C tbh. But I think considering the outcome of her decisions would be helpful next time. Totally understand what he is saying, I'm just annoyed with his definition of REAL artists.
