Economy

so much money

weird country :rip:

this!

its up to $150,000 but doesnt mean it will be that much... if it is, then thats exagerated.

Like they shouldnt deny it... but $150,000??? really? thats rediculous and ppl arent mentioning that just because they are so sensitive about gay rights and feel anyone who fails to recognize it should be punished so severelly

Its also dis-concerning to me how some ppl here seem blunt to say they deserve this yet no one is talking about how their children would suffer after the company went brankrupt. Bakeries are not that massively profitable and as it mentions they would infact go bankrupt :manicure:

How can a simple denial possibly be justified with so much money? id say $5000 to $10,000 at most

Good for them, but the maximum of $150,000 is way too much  It will bankrupt the business, and they have kids to feed. The point of this should be to teach a hard lesson, not to ruin lives  :smh:

Next time someone resents baking a cake for religious reasons, maybe they'll just secretly spit in it, or put some wacky ingredient in it.

That why I'd never give business to someone that hates me, just so I could force them to go against their religion.

this!!!

Im all for LGBT rights but this is completely unjustifiable. Ppl are prasing it only cuz they cant stand homophobes and so all of a sudden they accept extreme punishment

$150k is WAY too much. The discrimination crime wasnt even a severe degree since there was no real abuse. They simply didnt make a cake

Like, i get some level of punishment but if it goes even near the $150,000 limit i think its totally unreasonable

If u really think about it... If everything happened as the article says... Then i think covering court costs plus $2000 is already more than enough

U cant go into an extreme punishment mode everytime someone does something stupid or a crime that isnt even that severe. Beating someone for being gay or cuberbullying them would be severe. This is not severe

Exactly I 100% agree!

The main punishment of this whole affair comes from the public shaming the bakery receives, the money is just a little extra lesson. $2000 seems more than adequate.

Besides, assuming that they are slightly narrow minded, $150,000 would just make them have a lesser opinion of LGBT people.  :smh:
