They lied about WMDs and got us into this mess. What do you think the next President will do differently? Send our soldiers over there to fight on the ground, to end up disabled, kidnapped or dead? Jordan has a sophisticated military, just like other countries surrounding these regions taken over by ISIS. Disappointed that Fox News decided to show the unedited clip on their website. They claim to do so to show "the reality" of Islamic extremists yet they would refuse to show dead soldiers coming back from Iraq or Afghanistan, they won't show pictures or videos of bombs being dropped in Iraq with civilians dying. What about the reality of drone strikes and bomb strikes? What about the reality of the multiple beheadings of people in Saudi Arabia? Fox News has a clear agenda and are unfortunately acting exactly how ISIS wants them to act. While I want to make it clear that any sane person is disgusted by ISIS and this dangerous strain of Islamic terrorism, we need to be aware that they want to incite war. They want the US to bomb the middle east and provide an enemy to scapegoat the regions problems to. Dropping bombs is not the answer to this problem and is likely to destabilize the region even more. ISIS makes it's money through smuggling illegal oil from fields it controls in Iraq and Syria. Local forces need to be supported so they can reclaim control of these oil fields and hard diplomacy and sanctions, with international support, need to be focused on Turkish and Iraqi black-market oil dealers in order to cut off the revenue for ISIS. There also needs to be action taken to crack down on ISIS’s supply routes and weapons supply and provide more humanitarian relief in Iraq and Syria in order to counter further radicalisation.
