Haroon 49,685
I don't think the veil is the reason why she wasn't given handshakes, it's because in those countries men and women aren't supposed to have physical contact I believe And I wouldn't say she's "snubbed", because they did acknowledge her as politely as they could (within their rules) via nods

And hypocrisy of some members. She's praised for not following or not respecting the culture, then those same people preach about muslim woman's "obligation" to follow European or US culture in everything and get rid off "backward" clothing. And women forbidden to enroll in higher education? lol what? FreePalestine

Cody Draco 2,531
I'm perfectly fine with this since she at least dressed conservatively to respect their culture. She doesn't belong to that culture so there is no need for a headwrap.

Melech 9,900
The real issue here is how Obama didn't go to France but went to pay respects to Abdullah. Like why. Or auschwitz

Didymus 34,380
The US supports beheading people to get some oil? and you dont consider the united states backwards and barbaric? I like you This. And hypocrisy of some members. She's praised for not following or not respecting the culture, then those same people preach about muslim woman's "obligation" to follow European or US culture in everything and get rid off "backward" clothing. That's an excellent point in many related discussions Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't think of that.

Morphine Prince 109,675
"Good for her. That country is SO backwards... literally the US puts up with it because of oil" so I wanted to tell you that supporting and putting up with barbaric backwards countries makes you the exact same thing if not worse. Well, not ME. I'm not my country. I'd say it makes the country opportunist and Capitalist as it's always been. There are always trade offs. The US is on its way to energy independence anyway. Hopefully in the near future the US has less ties with the Middle East. If nations picked and choosed relations over moral issues no one would have relations with each other or we wouldn't live in a global world It's sick but it is what it is.
