RainingOnMe 7,280
Sorry but no. No radio station would play Aura. Too loud and messy for radio, the general public would not listen to it at all. Judas was too much for them, imagine Aura. That is why it was renamed from Burqa to Aura, to avoid that kind of controversy.
DriverMonster 10
I like Aura a lot. One of my favorites. Just don't think it would do good on radio. Applause was one of my favorite singles she's ever done. I love the energy of it. Gypsy was the most radio friendly but lots of actual gypsies were offended by the title. It caused small controversy. No one here loves the final version of Aura though... I said if they kept the demo vocals then it would have been her 4th #1, that's all.
GagaDragon 10
I hope she is, or else how is she going to make it up to us?
Dunk96 2,526
I'm pretty positive she was aware of it,but she still had to promote it regardless of its chart position or success.
Miley 5,006
If they did release it but kept the fierce demo vocals then it would have been her 4th #1. not even top
Whispering 18,865
You've clearly not been caught up with what happened. Yes, she switched the single to DWUW. But guess what? The label (or should I say Troy) forced her to release applause as the lead. They liked it as the lead, she didn't. She just wanted it to be a filler song on the album. She wanted aura, therefore she posted it for all her fans to hear it because they said no. Troy: -Funded the app development, forcing Gaga to let go of it, wouldn't even give her rights to it. -Funded the development for the DWUW video combined with Gaga thinking it wasn't a good idea to release it. -Let her down when she needed him the most by LEAVING her all by herself. Troy had nothing to do with the selection of her singles. That's a label call. Troy did not work for Interscope, he worked for Gaga and Gaga answers to Interscope. The music boards and social media hated the Aura leak. I know that the super stans loved it here, but outside of that, casual fans and music listeners thought it was awful. It would have been a horrible idea as a first single and there was no way Interscope was going to send that put as a single! Jimmy made the right choice with Applause. It was a great radio song and ended up doing well on radio and in many countries. DWUW was also a very good choice for a second single! The labels choices were spot on with those two songs...there were just other factors with management and personal issues that hurt the era.
Mama Ru 994
How could she not be aware? It's the only thing we talk about these days. Im blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch.
Dominic 11,922
If the song was released with the fierce vocals instead of the lay-toned stupid vocals at the right time and before we even heard it, then you wouldn't be saying this, you would be agreeing. Aura would have been one of the worst choices for lead single. It wouldn't have been a hit, if something more radio friendly like Applause couldn't get the #1 then Aura definitely couldnt. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
Dann 354
Why do people always blame the label? You do remember that she wanted to release Venus as a lead single right? Venus is ha flawfree yo don't know teas sir.
djBuffoon 12,125
Yes, but she doesnt see as being a bad album but something that brought bad stuff to her. My impression is she's proud of the album (as she should be) but that it's also indicative of a point of her career where the control over how she presented the music to us got away from her. RAMROD 109,893
Yes but is is muchess easier to admit it tbh. And I think that is just normal. I am sure any of us have been there or will feel the same when something that we do and pour our hearts on, be it worknof art or just some papers, are received badly by other people. It will take time for her to admit that and it will come eventually. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ hating pop music doesn't make you deep (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
