Sure. She needs to work hand in hand with a professional director. Her best videos are the ones in which she had a lot of input while still being driven by professionals (BR, Paparazzi)

Not that G.U.Y. wasn't good, she was obviously very inspired, but she had enough material to record two videos at once. She could have easily recorded Venus and GUY, with one extra day on set.

No.

I think G.U.Y. & MTN are some of her best works. & Applause is just :legend:

She wasn't entirely responsible for G.U.Y & Applause, she had several professional directors with her on set, she just wrote the treatement with her team, which she does for all her videos, however, its different from directing.

On Topic : of course, i don't want Gaga to ever direct another video, MTN was tragic.

The videos that she directed herself are among her most invigorating and visually distinctive, even if they don't have the spit-and-polish of, say, "Telephone" and "Bad Romance". This is not to say that Knight, Ackerlund, and Lawrence, didn't do outstanding work, but overall, I actually prefer it when a Gaga video doesn't look pristine. Case in point: "Applause" was directed by professional photographers but there's still a rough edge to the film-making, and it works.

So you care more for the chart positions than the art itself? Gurl, you stan for the wrong pop star

I didn't say that... I just say that she could be creative AND successful at the same time... The G.U.Y. video could have been 7 minutes long without that useless MANiCURE part. G.U.Y. is one of my favorite music video by Gaga, but it could have been more successful without the last part, and it wouldn't have changed anything to the quality...

I'm stanning for Gaga since Day 1, it won't change... I'm just saying she could mix creation AND success. She already succeeded in it, I don't see why she would not return at the top of charts with good music and good videos...

+ She doesn't need 11-13 minutes to create an artistic video..

Since she is working with "professional" songwriters and a big team for the songs, i don't see why she would not for her videos, let's hope !

I know, and I like the story but I just don't feel it was developed in the right context. I mean, the song needed a video to get more promo and get higher in the charts, and the "video" kinda ruined that. I think the whole Film is interesting tho, but in the marketing field I just don't think it was a great video

I enjoyed both of them- two of my favorites!

I enjoyed G.U.Y. MTN was painful to watch in the first 9 minutes tbh.

Yes, but she could do one video to improve her skills, maybe like the ARTPOP film with multiple songs from the album

LADY GAGA/madonna/katy perry/little mix/ariana grande/selena gomez/britney spears/taylor swift

Heres the thing to me, I think she fell out of good graces with a lot of people and thats coincidentally when she started taking the helm in her videos so I don't think its her lack of ability that has been getting a lack of props but that shes just been getting a lack of props in general. I think its positive that shes trying new things and taking control HOWEVER I can't help but admit I do prefer the aforementioned videos and Applause all of which were because of other directors. Imo the ARTPOP film was all over the place, it was so disjointed particularly the Venus portion and how she utilized the housewives and everything, it was just like why. The actual GUY portion of the video was great though. (But then wtf was with the MANiCURE credits? Idk). The GUY portion was great. I also hate Marry the Night, I dont think it worked imo for the same reason, it just felt sort of disjointed and wasnt in harmony with the song.
