Republican Senator C.B. Embry Jr. of Kentucky is introducing a bill he calls the Kentucky Student Privacy Act that would essentially ban all transgender students from using the bathroom. The law would force students to identify their biological s-x and use the appropriate restroom.

But here’s the kicker. Embry says that any student who has to suffer the ordeal of seeing a trans person in the bathroom would be entitled to $2,500 for “all psychological, emotional, and physical harm suffered.â€

You know what? I agree with Embry on this front – there is something disturbing and dangerous going on here, something that continues to be unaddressed. It’s the fact that trans people suffer from the highest murder rates in the LGBT community.

From 2008 to 2014, there have been a total of 1,509 cases of reported killings of trans people. That’s excluding beatings, harassment, and, of course, the killings that go unreported.

My God, we should be paying trans people just for putting up with us and having the bravery to walk into public spaces every day.

Does Embry have any idea what it must be like to feel constantly unsafe? To feel like he could be attacked simply for daring to exist?

I’m going to wager that he doesn’t.

No, his biggest problem is apparently seeing a trans person in the bathroom.

What a luxury.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

This would be in my state. Kentucky is a continuous disappoint to me from a political standpoint. Not all of our state leaders or representatives are this conservative (and idiotic) but sadly the majority are.

What is this? This is foolish.

How about trans being traumatic for treated this way??

These politicians didn't think of that for a second.

What about the emotional trauma of seeing C.B. Embry's face, or reading his stupid words?

"Trauma"? what about the trauma of being ostracized by our society and given dirty looks and to be assualted and murdered at an astoshingly high rate while the government in some states might decide to pay people if they see you in a public restroom? Wtf? What is America? Why? What about the 49 states where it legal to use fear of transpeople as a plead when you murder a trans person?

Hands up to the sky 🌧 I’ll be your galaxy 🌌

Try putting yourself in the shoes of trans people facing this kind of discrimination and hate and then tell me about your "trauma."

haha este!

He's an idiot and while I understand that he was raised with this ideology and that is not his fault, it is his error for not changing his ways and opening up his mind.

How the FUCK would someone be "psychological, emotional, and physical harm suffered" over seeing a human body part on a different face?!

There is SO MUCH I could say about this, but one thing that strikes me as most odd is that this senator belongs to the party that is constantly touting fiscal responsibility and urging measures such as restricting welfare, yet he wants to throw money at people who feel bad because a transgendered person may have seen their hoo-hah in a public bathroom.

Making an entire minority feel unwelcome is a good thing to invest potentially millions in. I know this ****er's logic. I've seen it personally. Make them feel like the whole world is out to get them...and the problem will correct itself. These are the assholes who rejoice in a transgendered person's suicide. It makes me so angry...

Nod if you wanna make love with the enemy. ❤
