And we can criticize it :spin: "I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. Death 9
Who are you to judge what people believe or love? Can you please answer me that question. If they're happy with their beliefs and they are not disturbing anyone, let them be. This is where the issue is.
Gov Hooka 8,008
so don't make fun of beliefs like the tooth fairy or that the earth is flat, that's not a source of ridicule? because it should be made fun of. we don't want people to believe things that aren't true. or like just don't kill or harm people no matter how offended you are by cartoons. that's the message you should be endorsing, not "don't upset people or who knows what will happen to you". They may not be true in your point of view but in others they are. You're not always right, and not everything is your point of view. A belief is a belief and simply because you cant understand that concept doesn't mean you should ridicule others who do hold beliefs and understand the concept of faith. Doesn't make them anymore wrong and you any less right no matter the amount of evidence you so desire. I really don't feel like discussing this with you though. I just notice that a lot of the times your arguments center on your point of view simply being right and others are wrong because they don't have evidence, when in reality faith is the driving factor here, something you clearly can't comprehend. If you really did understand and comprehend the concept of faith, then evidence wouldn't be brought up in this conversation. Faith and belief goes beyond evidence and represents a different kind of truth that varies from person to person. Faith and evidence/tangible truth are two different spheres. Don't combine them because it's like comparing apples with oranges. That's where I agree with you though because I disagree with the concept of using religion to create a science especially today when we have the scientific method. But otherwise don't scoff at faith or belief or think that this concept should be ridiculed when a large number of people hold these concepts near and dear to their heart. It's simply rude to do so. "beyond evidence", that's kind of what i said or at least inferred when i said "without evidence". because if something has to go beyond evidence, i would say that is because there is no evidence, or the evidence that is there is insufficient to validate their hopes or preconceptions. and when there is no evidence then there is no reason to believe or have faith in it. obviously those who do have faith would disagree with that. the number of people believing in something doesn't really affect whether i think it's worthy of ridicule. actually, the more ridiculous something is, and the more people believe in it gives it even more reason to be ridiculed, not less. the more people involved in anything the more serious it becomes. if it's a bad thing, i think it's natural to want to lessen that.
