In my opinion, ARTPOP is better than The Fame Monster

I agree. My 8 favorite songs from each album would top TFM.

You can play ARTPOP at a house party and it would be a great party album from start to finish, TFM just doesn't have that vibe to it.

TFM is a deep album... I don't know what isn't deep about it tbh... each song represents her darkest phobias/fears... most of which are relatable to others.

Sorry but I respectfully disagree. My love for TFM has nothing to do with success or critical acclaim. That record slayed my existence- I couldn't even fathom it. A lot of it having to do with me not expecting Gaga to make that kind of music. It was honestly perfect for me. And it is deep, just not so obvious. It's a fantastic record and is probably the reason why I'm such a die-hard stan.

For me, the production of BTW and AP were too distracting (although I get its purpose). To me, out of all her albums, TFM is just best quality wise, overall. But to each his/her own

I literally could not have said this better myself...

ARTPOP and Born This Way are constantly fighting it out as my favorite Gaga album, so I've stopped comparing. They're both spectacular.

And although The Fame and The Fame Monster have moments of genius, I would agree that they are less bold and effective works by comparison. Also worth noting that even Gaga's weakest efforts are superior to others' career peaks.

My list is in the same order as the albums came, I think she's topped herself everytime. Of course the list changes from time to time, but overall;

1. ARTPOP/Cheek to Cheek (not really comparable, I think they're amazing in different ways)
2. Born This Way
3. The Fame Monster
4. The Fame

The Fame Monster was good while it lasted, but got its weave dragged into the next dimension by Born This Way, which to me is by far Gagas best album. ARTPOP is a close second on my list.

It's hard to light a candle, easy to curse the dark instead.

When will people realise that "deep music" isn't good music?

This thread is an embarrassment
