What she means is that while putting cream on her face like a ritual, she has introspective moments where she reminds herself that her body is mortal, and will be forever lost eventually, but her creative mind, and what she creates with it (art), will live forever. I guess we can chalk it up to artistic license? For the Sexxx Dreams lyric though, she's saying "In love as I am, when I lay with you, I think of him". (but I doubt she was being artistic with it, nor does it add any artistic value per se) Didn't know the lyric well and had always cringed listening to the abomination that is "love is i am".
