You know that Christians never liked to be ruled by anyone, except themselves, that is a fact. Both Greeks and Serbs have their own version of history which doesn't always match with other European historians and orientalists. Ottomans conquered the Balkans and preserved many century old churches and in 500 years they could forcibly convert them all to Islam, but they didn't. Majority stayed in same religion.

Ottomans ruled over 500 years tho, I agree that they did many wrong things in last century of their rule. But they brought so many good things too, like food. :)

Erm albanians had food even before turkish rule.

Also I'd rather have had an albanian state during those 500 years, where our culure could flourish and evolve, just like most european countries had.

At least we can agree that serbian rule makes turkish rule look like a paradise

Yes, but so many of your (and whole Balkan) cuisine and words you use originate from Ottomans, because they ruled even parts of Asia and Arabia so all that mixture is so nice and rich imo. Also the architecture is beautiful.

Serbian language has so many Turkish words, it's funny, because they hate them so much.

Yeah, Albanians suffered under Serbs more. Anyway, my point was not to praise them, but just to show that Europeans got introduced to Islam long time ago and milions of Muslims in Bosnia, Albania, part of Serbia, Greece etc are evidence that there is no reason to create and promote this type of fear and threat from Muslims in general.

Of course europeans shouldn't fear Muslims since they are normal people just like them, but as long as groups like ISIS, Boko Haram etc exist, muslims are gonna suffer ( just like other religous groups)

I don't know where are you from but you're not very educated on the subject. I'm not really sure who came up with this myth of how tolerant the Ottoman rule was in the Balkans. Sure they preserved some churches but many others were demolished. Christians didn't have the same rights as the muslims. There is not one case of an ottoman that was imprisoned for killing or raping a christian, cause it wasn't illegal. Minorities were considered subhumans.  In my country alone there were whole villages wiped of existence, there were mass murders of christians. You can read about it on wikipedia even, there's no need to be a historian or orientalist. I'm not trying to say their rule was the most horrible in human history, cause it wasn't. But keep in mind all the atrocities they committed, before saying how great they were.

Well Bulgarians have similar version of their history as Serbs do. They have many myths too, like stories of heroes which never existed. It's all about who you choose to believe more and who actually has documents to prove what happened. My post was not focused on how great they were, although if you look at Medieval Europe, life under Muslim rule was much more tolerant for Christians and Jews, like in Islamic Spain; than it was under Christian rule for Jews or any non-Christian.

The point was that, as I said many times, that Muslims in Europe have long history and their culture and living among their neighbours till this present day is evidence that it's ridiculous to spread hate and fear in a manner like "IS will now show Europeans what Islam really is", you get it?

Like people from some certain country in ME are trying to do, only to get more support from Europe for their evildoings.
