glad my aunts girlfriend introduced me to TLC at a young age. made me more ok with listening to songs made by women. growing up in a poor area means guys around you will expect you to be tough and when you admit you like a female artist you get looked at funny....or worse

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

Yeah skipped like all the comments in this thread cause I'm sure it's the usual dribble but it seems like she's catching onto something interesting.

I mean s-xism has built up a need for men to constantly reinforce their masculinity to prove they were not feminine, a.k.a. "weak" to society. Men will listen to women singers/rappers but they need to almost reinforce this power for them. If they're singing about s-x, they have to be the ones f*cking and not being f*cked etc...

Meh truth is you're not going to get many straight men singing "Dick bigger than a tower, I ain't talking about Eiffel's ... *** put his ass to sleep, now he calling me NyQuil" and "I let him hit it 'cause he slang Cocaine, he toss my salad like his name Romaine" because they're more about being the receiver in the bedroom which is typically the feminine role in the bedroom.

You're DELUDED! Of course straight men that are into hip hop don't listen to Nicki. Not openly anyway. It's kinfa like being gay. They have to come out of the closet as Minaj listeners. :toofloppy: If any straight men do listen to her, they aren't hip hop listeners. They're just pop fans who heard PF.

Yes, Rap is the go-to music for guys wanting to seem macho and hyper-masculine. Hard rock and metal used to fill that role. So it likely has more listeners who wouldn't listen to females.

Straights who like Pink Friday because it sounds like Rihanna, probably don't like her new collab with Chris Brown and Lil Wayne.

I'm straight, and it actually bugs me how much female pop stars pander to gays. It creates this stigma of "oh, you listen to Gaga? You must be gay." Music is for EVERYONE to enjoy. Thanks for acknowledging this, Nicki!

really ppl who sees music like it's a impact on what you like in bed, they just really can stay on they own place and still dont get what music is all are. :fthis: Ã¢â‚¬â€¹

Your music doesn't pretain to your s-xual orientation AT ALL. You can be straight and enjoy a drag queens music in my opinion, people are just way to judge mental when it comes to people's music taste.

You can like pop without being gay.

Heavy metal without being weird.

Rap/Urban without being black or a "wangster".

Country without being a hick.

Jazz without being old.

It's goes on and on and on. THERE ARE SO MANY STEREOTYPES THAT COME WITH MUSIC TASTE AND I HATE IT.

She created this image of her with the plastic bop girl when she started so when you day Nicki Minaj everybody think of Stupid Hoe. So they don't even want to get into her music. That's how they are I guess.

You do have to like and respect women (or the feminine) to call yourself a fan of a female artist, let alone have one as your idol. That's why gays like divas more than the average male, while hypermacho pricks like them less.
