Even worse, you're a young straight white male...

your opinion on racism or feminism probably doesn't matter. You don't get to decide how completely different people feel.

What? :rip: what a racist and s-xist mess. The only way equality will be reached is if we as people come together to look for an answer.

This post is completely foolish and you're creating preconceived notions of myself, based on my s-xuality and race. Disgusting :smh:

Ebro comes across as so patronizing.

And also, he's obviously lying because he says that he can't name a single song on her record, and then later namechecks BBD as his favourite?

This. I can't imagine what it must feel like to be black in this country. To have people constantly dismiss your work and your culture as deplorable, vulgar, low-brow, but then have white people do the same thing and be praised as quirky and hip, even brave. To have criminals of your race be demonized as "thugs" by news outlets but white criminals are just "mentally/emotionally disturbed." To have, as she mentioned, your whole K-12 history education be about all the great things white people have done throughout history (often at the expense of people of color, but that's of course glossed over) as if the rest of us are just a bunch of free riders that didn't contribute and should just be thankful for what white people have given us. And to have, as soon as anything is done to remedy this, an army of angry white people call reverse-racism. I can barely handle it emotionally from an outside perspective. I don't think I could bear it from the inside.

But she IS racist

So Iggy isn't allowed to rap, but Jimmi Hendrix can be a rock'n'roll legend? Beyonce can do pop? Darius Rucker can do country?

It really bothers me that so many black people want to continue to blame white people for slavery that took place two hundred years ago. My ancestors never owned slaves, it's not my fault, and I don't owe you anything.

Again, great points masked by iggy hate and other useless stuff that trivialize her argument

I feel like Azealia's intent would be so much easier to explain and defend if she stopped sideblazing the convo to iggy

It's like Lenny Kravitz.  In an interview he said when he was starting out and getting signed they tried to put him in a box, saying his music wasn't black enough.  No one knew what to make of him, his love of classic rock and influences were Cream, Led Zeppelin, etc.  He ignored it all and did what he loved.

Not gonna comment on your opinion but Rock n' Roll's origin comes from Chuck Berry (a black musician). He was a pioneer of rock music

And also other black musicians and white ones as well.

You know rock n roll actually has a black background right? Elvis Presley appropriated that and today is known as the king of rock. So you see Azealia is right.

So a white man becoming a legendary artist in a particular genre is racist and taking away from black people? Seems like it perpetuates a white / black divide if you can only make music based on ur skin color. Y'all don't realize how racist she is with this argument.

so let me try to get it right. She should be able to express her opinion about everything but we shouldn't be able to express our opinion on what she said.

she should be allowed to tweet racist things day and night but we are considered racist for disagreeing with her.

she should be able to do rap and hip hop cause she s black but whites shouldnt

elvis was an evil man that stole rock from the black people and because he was successful ppl think rock isfor the whites (sorry I found this fan post hilarious)
