umm calm the shade cause despite his greatness as a a lyricist The Pinkprint still has a higher metacritic score.

Which says a lot about Metacritic.

No, but in all honesty, I like some songs on the PP. I just wanted to be shady  :teehee:

He has a point tho if I understood correctly. He is saying that the bad numbers some very popular artists have been getting this past couple of months, is a result of a decline in quality, and that a popular name is not enough to keep good sales sometimes.

The complex part of this is that is so hard to generalize and find a pattern, sometimes what he says is true, sometimes "trash" music gets a lot of exposure and sells, sometimes good music, even from well established names, underwhelms, its so hard to predict

And, I dont think people should use his own sales against him, he is talking about bad numbers teaching the industry a lesson

I can think of someone else he's shading with the "no features" comment

I agree, clearly he wanted in on J&D. This was obviously aimed at Gaga. He can remain bitter :grr:

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

Work Out and Power Trip were huge hits.

Well, those weren't really that impressive, though I'm still pretty impressed that he sold over 300K copies. It has to be a male artist thing. Idk.

The only reason he debuted and is selling good rn is cause hiphop fans are loyal, why do you think rick ross always opens up in the top 10 on bb? J.cole isn't really no one to be telling people they should stop serving trash cause he's only on his third album.. The same thing that happened to gaga could happen to him

ok. get you were trying to be funny. but also metacritic is a combination of reputable sources reviewing an album. its not one review.

Hmmm. Well, I guess that does play a part. I guess they're sort of like country fans. They buy entire albums and not just singles of literally any country artist the hear on the radio. I just don't understand why Pop fans are so fickle, like, support the artist. I rarely ever buy singles alone, unless it's a guilty pleasure like Dark Horse, instead I buy whole albums, because I want to support the artists I like. I can't understand why that's not relevant in pop? It's such a great genre with something for everyone!

This really, I was talking today to some girls in class about nickis new album and I said I was gonna go buy it after school and they looked at me weird and said why? When you could just listen to it on spotify for free? And then some of them said they only downloaded the songs with beyonce and ariana grande
