That's absolutely ridiculous :deadbanana: bahahahaha!

Why don't they delay exams over ISIS beheadings? Or why don't they delay exams over the soon-to-be-released CIA torture report?

Columbia looking for that promo I guess.

I can't at the ignorance on this forum. I guess that's what you get with children.

Mess. I'm 22.

Sorry for assuming Columbia law school students aren't 3-year-olds and can hear about unrelated deaths hundreds of miles away without experiencing "trauma"  :haha: the students are just exploiting these deaths for some extra study time, disgusting.

Except it wasn't the students who asked for or demanded it, the interim dean just instituted the policy. Great reading skills you have there, 22-year-old :koons:

I never read past the title (so make sure your thread titles are descriptive) and my point still stands - it's an imbecilic policy.

Not really. In your opinion.

You clearly have no critical thinking skills or are able to think past yourself and think about how this actually can effect people in ways more than you seem to be able to comprehend or consider.

Affect them how? A couple guys were killed by police in questionable situations and the media plastered it all over. Wrongful deaths happen all the time, how does this affect law students studying for exams New York?

I just read an article on Reddit about a Mississippi teen who was burned alive with lighter fluid down her nose. The CIA report has lots of government-condoned torture and lies detailed in it. That sounds more disturbing to me. Are they gonna allow these law students extra time with every upsetting news story? :rip:

You're 22??? :deadbanana:

Of course!

They're studying and trying to apply the law that's supposed to be protecting them, yet see evidence straight to the contrary and a public that allows it. Or at least the public who was allowed on the grand juries that did not indict the police officers.

Maybe for someone who is white, this isn't anything to be too affected by, but for those of color, how could you not be? I am white, but I can put myself in someone else's shoes and see things from a different perspective even if it's not my own.

You on the other hand exemplify what a challenge that task is for most people.

If that's what someone who can think critically and can view things from perspectives that are not my own is, then yessir I am

If you're talking about Michael Brown the evidence and autopsy supports Wilson's story and the documents are available online   if you're talking about Eric Garner it was unfortunate but happens every day to people of all colours.
