This is great news, for Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett. I hope Lady Gaga records more popular songs, as she seems to excel in this, as well as pop albums.

I really hope she wins it! She deserves it so much.

If they win who's taking the award?  :awkney:

Or they getting two statuettes?

I think they'd probably get 2 if they won (or at least 2 mailed to them after the fact, like the SAG awards).

From the moment C2C was released before the deadline of the eligibility period, a nomination for Traditional Pop was universally anticipated. And now they got one, I couldn't be happier. They rightfully deserve it. Win or lose, Gaga has already made history for being nominated in all the top album categories of Dance, Pop, and Traditional Pop. She has already won two of those. But if she wins this one too, she'd be the first in history to win all three. So even though I'm disappointed with ARTPOP being snubbed most likely due to how it sold, and not because of how it is as a pop album, there's still something great to look forward to for Gaga next year. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

wow,i didn't know that.ur words gave me so much hope

Im almost 100% positive they will award the grammy to the album that has sold the most.

so who has sold more?

Tony or Barbara? :gum:

I'd say 50%. They've been quite unpredictable in the last couple of years (not just in general, but specifically with this category). This year, they've awarded the best-selling album (Michael Bublé's To Be Loved) among all the nominees. Last year, Paul McCartney won over Michael Bublé's Christmas album, an album that sold more than most albums released in 2011 and 2012 w/ WW reported sales standing at 8.5 million. But if there's something certain, then that's Tony Bennett being the undisputed king of this category. He has won a record 11 times, Barbra has yet to win one. That could be our advantage, as Barbra's name and her sales are to her. And then there's the fact that both albums made chart history upon their debuts: one made Barbra the first ever to score a #1 album in 6 consecutive decades, the other made Gaga the first female to score 3 #1 albums in this decade + extended Tony's record as the oldest living chart-topper.

They didn't in 2012 and 2013.
