The whole ceremony isn't a serious event. They should wear something more appropriate. It's not their fault, it's their advisors and parents fault... I'm sure they have a whole team. Nothing about what they are wearing is "low class". Either way, the comments from the aide were inappropriate. She learned a valuable lesson, the hard way. The clothing they wore was appropriate for a folksy, silly, press event where the President "pardons" a fowl. It's a really stupid tradition that no one takes seriously. Last year Malia wore jeans and a leather jacket, and Sasha wore a Forever-21-looking shirt. I can't imagine why anyone would find it preferable for two teenage girls to be told how to dress in order to look like Stepford spawn political props. If these were sons, they would have to wear some decent suit, tie and leather shoes, just something basic, maybe Brooks Brothers. What decade were you born in? Suits? Men's hats? Lol Why should they, or anyone else, worry about what people would have thought 40 years ago? Jump into the present, we aren't living in the sixties! Boys would not be expected to wear a suit to an event of this nature. They would probably be in jeans and a plaid or solid color long sleeve shirt, possibly a pair of khaki pants.
