lego 44,165
Israeli forces shoot, kill Palestinian man in northern Gaza GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli troops in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday, medical sources and witnesses said. Witnesses said Fadil Muhammad Halawah, 32, was hunting birds east of Jabaliya when Israeli soldiers shot him dead. Ashraf al-Qidra, spokesman for the Palestinian health ministry, said Halawah arrived at Kamal Udwan hospital in Jabaliya with a gunshot wound. Doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. An Israeli military spokesman told Ma'an that two Palestinians approached the separation barrier in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday. Soldiers called on the two to stop and fired warning shots in the air, the spokesman said. When the two Palestinians "refused to comply," soldiers "fired at the lower extremities, confirming one hit." The spokesman could not provide any further information. Halwah is the first Palestinian to be killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip since the signing of a ceasefire agreement between Palestinian militants and Israel in late August, ending 50 days of violence. http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=741978&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed Israelis attack Arab taxi driver in Bnei Brak, claim he tried to hit 2 TEL AVIV (Ma’an) – A Palestinian taxi driver from Kafr Qasim city near Tal Aviv in central Israel says he was attacked by 17 Israelis in the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Bnei Brak after two of them claimed he tried to run them over. A Ma’an reporter said the driver told Israeli police he had parked his taxi in front of a hospital to pick up two Israeli female nurses who called him. He added that two young Israeli men came and started to shout at him accusing him of trying to run them over. One of the nurses got out of the taxi and shouted “you are lying.†Shortly after that, 15 other Israelis arrived and attacked the taxi swearing at the driver. The taxi sustained damage. Israeli police say they are investigating the incident. http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=741962 Israeli woman breaks into Silwan home, pepper sprays Palestinian woman JERUSALEM (Ma'an) -- An Israeli woman broke into a Palestinian home in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem on Sunday and attacked a Palestinian woman with pepper spray while she was sleeping, family told Ma'an. Resident Khalid Abu Hadwan told Ma'an that an "extremist" Jewish woman broke into his family home and attacked his mother Nima Abu Hadwan, 57. "As my brother Muhammad heard my mother screaming, he tried to chase the extremist woman, who fled the scene to the Western Wall, but Israeli police denied him access to the place," Hadwan said. Israeli police arrived at the Hadwan family home as the woman was being taken to the hospital. Family members said the family would file a complaint to the Israeli police, saying that the officers present in the area turned a blind eye to the attack. A police spokesman did not answer calls seeking comment. The incident comes amid heavy tensions and tit-for-tat attacks between Israelis and Palestinians in Jerusalem. http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=741992 FreePalestine
lego 44,165
Settlers torched West Bank home Palestinians reported Sunday that settlers attacked a home in the West Bank village of Khirbat Abu Fallah, setting it on fire and spraying racist graffiti including 'Death to the Arabs' on the walls. Nobody was hurt in the incident, but a building was heavily damaged, according to the report. The Civil Administration sent representatives to the village, north of Ramallah, to investigate. Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian who monitors settler activities in the northern West Bank, said that several family members were at home when firebombs were thrown at their building, sparking flames. "Luckily, the women were able to wake up and leave the house and call neighbors for help," said Daghlas. "The residents managed to control the fire but the house was heavily damaged. Daghlas said it was clear that the attack has been carried out by Israelis because the accompanying graffiti was written in Hebrew. On Thursday night, four girls from the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar were arrested in Jerusalem on suspicion of spraying Arabs in the capital with tear gas. In the first incident, a Palestinian taxi driver reported that he had been attacked on King George Street by four girls, who fled on foot. Shortly after, another Palestinian reported a similar attack. The arrests come after a spate of terror attacks in the capital, including one last Tuesday at a synagogue in Har Nof, that killed four worshipers and a policeman. http://www.haaretz.com/mobile/.premium-1.627954?v=88935587724404F89F4798CCD120E227 FreePalestine
EXCXSXE 0
Disclaimer: In an effort to try this again, with a balanced approach, this thread will be restarted with a clean slate. Calling this a 'balanced approach' is laughable. The first post is unbelievably one-sided, not to mention everything else thats been posted... If you want to claim a 'balanced approach', we should have a write-up of the conflict that both sides can agree to, and is informative rather than argumentative. Did you ask a mod if you can remake this thread? I think it's a bad idea.

You can;t possibly compare this: Israeli forces have identified the bodies of the three missing Israeli teens, ABC News, The New York Times and other international outlets are reporting. The teens, who went missing in the Israeli-occupied West Bank on June 12, have been the subject of a massive search in recent weeks. Israeli forces have arrested hundreds of Palestinians in the course of the search. The Times reports that senior government officials in Israel said military searchers found the three bodies buried “in a field near Hebron,†a large West Bank city: “They know it’s the three, they will know for sure after they do the autopsy.†The official said the three appeared to have been shot to death, likely “very close to the kidnap†time, and that the prime suspects had still not been caught. A gag order in effect on Israeli media has meant that no Israel-based outlets have reported on the discovery of the teen’s bodies. A press conference is scheduled for this afternoon, according to Tweets from reporters. New York Times Jerusalem bureau chief Jodi Rudoren tweeted that Israeli forces are blocking roads into and out of Hebron. to what you posted. The first three posts in this thread are quite clearly one-sided and based on few facts and many opinions. I am definitely considering not participating. I'm aware that there is no use in arguing with those who don't want peace, but I'm tempted to contribute due to misinformation and heavy bias from both sides. This thread is already a joke. Y'all are having a media war, and I refuse to participate. By the way, the day that you post an article about the wrong-doings of Hamas or any article that shows some remote trace of sympathy for the Israeli point of view is the day I'll stop making these posts. Same goes for the fanatic Zionists who post here. Wrong or right do not belong to one side of the conflict, but anyone who sympathizes with only one side is definitely wrong. The title was also changed by a mod, you saw yesterday that it was different. I am not at all bothered by the reports about the people of Gaza, I actually just donated to a charity. I am not nearly as heartless as you try to make me seem, though that is a clever tactic used by many when they get defensive about this. If your posts were to show people how they can help, they would more often include charity links, and less often include 15 articles about the wrong-doings of the Israeli government and how terrible Israel is. They would at least occasionally be about peace or reconciliation, and never about spreading hate or one-sided information. You and the Zionists you argue with so viciously fall into the same category; most of you firmly contradict my belief that everyone should actively try to recognize their own biases. Knowledge is bias, and therefore everyone is biased; not recognizing you are biased makes it incredibly difficult to be a human. Anyways, I'm realizing this is bordering on off-topic because I haven't seen you blow up yet in this thread, only try to share more links than the opposing viewpoint. Think about this though: you have a certain responsibility on this forum as the loudly pro-Palestinian voice. You do share a lot of great things, you do have interesting things to say, and you're incredibly active on this forum. You are obviously very interested and passionate about this conflict which I think is great. The problem is that only illustrating one side does no justice to how complicated the situation is, and how knowledgeable you are about it. By posting as much as you do, you've taken on the responsibility of a sort of educator, which once again is great, but part of that responsibility involves portraying the conflict in an educational manor, rather than an argumentative one, as many people on this forum do not know better than to read the first news article they're shown. My two cents.

lego 44,165
Russia to support Palestinian bid for statehood in UN Russian deputy foreign minister says UN resolution could be a 'starting point for the renewal of negotiations between Palestine and Israel.' Russia will support a Palestinian bid for statehood in the United Nations Security Council, the Russian news service Interfax reported on Sunday. Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov was quoted in the report as saying that a UN statehood resolution "could serve as a starting point for the renewal of negotiations between Palestine and Israel. Considering that, Russia is prepared to support this resolution, when and if it is put to a vote," according to the Moscow Times which carried the report. The Palestinian Authority has yet to decide whether to postpone the submission of a draft statehood resolution to the Security Council. The authority's chief negotiator Saeb Erekat told Haaretz that the proposal is still due to be submitted as planned on November 29. Bogdanov said that the Russian position on the Palestinian issue resembled that of many European many countries. Sweden, he noted, recently recognized a Palestinian state and the parliaments of Britain and Spain had passed resolutions to that effect. Both the United States and Israel had done everything in their power to prevent the Palestinian Authority from heading to the UN, Bogdanov said. He also pointed out the U.S. was likely to veto the resolution if came to a vote. "The Palestinians have repeatedly said that if a UN resolution is blocked, they will appeal on behalf of Palestine to various international structures, including the International Criminal Court," Bogdanov said. http://www.haaretz.com/mobile/1.628321?v=6A033DE8068C74341C7AF520C111164E FreePalestine

Dolev 867
This week a memorial dedicated to fallen Israeli soldiers from the Druze community was defaced with pro-ISIS graffiti. This disgusting act is one of several anti-Druze incidents in recent weeks, because of the Druze community's support for their country, the state of Israel.
