Memo 176
Can we also get a license to discriminate homophobics, christians, white people and everyone we like
Batwings 12,957
What if it violates my religious beliefs to do business with bigoted assholes who use their religious beliefs to discriminate against people? Would that be cool? What amuses me so much about lawmakers who try to pass these laws is that it never seems to occur to them that the law could actually be used AGAINST them. They freak out any time they feel discriminated against, but then they want the right to discriminate.

My even more backward homestate of Alabama says hi. OT though, this "selective discrimination" crap needs to stop. It's a violation of human rights. Or if an atheist refused service to anyone wearing a crucifix. The outrage would flare up faster than you can say Quidditch.

Bear 7,515
Fine, if you agree not to do business with divorced people, anyone who has s-x before marriage, gluttonous people, anyone who has worked on Sundays, people who eat shellfish .etc I don't get this pick and chose attitude some people have towards the bible You either believe everything should be followed to the point, or admit that the majority of it was based on old cultural traditions that don't represent today. Interestingly, I came across this: I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. craig 680
My Compromise: 1. Allow only small businesses to discriminate on religious grounds. Big ones have too much power. 2. Make them request a religious exemption, and go on public record, so people offended by their policy can avoid them. That will limit amount of discrimination, and prevent the Right from using the religious freedom issue against gays.

thefamebitch 834
This is what this b---h does with her time? Why not do something positive for your state. Texas isn't perfect, but let's just focus on making sure that everyone has a constitutional right to discriminate against someone they BELIEVE to be LGBT... What kind of bull**** is that? What year are we in? Like, get a life & do something better and more productive and stop using religion for your ignorant & inappropriate beliefs. I feel sorry for people, that spend their limited time in this lifetime, on stupid frivolous stuff like this... Wait 50 years and she'll be looked at as an ignorant loser and I guarantee she'll be laughed at like she's a joke (which she already is).
