The o2-25th Oct. WTF was up with the audience?

It just wasn't as electric. I think that's the jist of my post. I understand seating vs standing. But the only reason there are seated tickets is because to the way the arena is built. You can't have everyone on the floor. And some events warrant sitting down. I personally just found it so strange...

I am honestly glad the DVD (if it happens) isn't being filmed at the O2. Even the crowd on the floor didn't seem that crazy... Which is fine... But I just wish I could bottle last night and show it to those who weren't there just how strange it was.

that makes me feel better since i missed out :emo: but yeah from videos i watched and what ppl said :udidnt: even the GA looked still wtf???

I felt the same during the antwerp show. I had seats but i got up when the intro began. Then suddenly the people behind me started annoying me with saying stuff like get down, we can't see anything. I just said maybe you should get up it's a show not a funeral . Also when gaga was naming all her hits the people around me only cheered when she said poker face . During swine people started leaving, but not the people behind me , they started annoying me again with saying now get down we wanne see something aaahhh . A strange audience in antwerp aswell

last night in london the atmosphere was good to a certain extent. standing were going nuts and they looked really good and were enjoying themselves. A lot of people were sitting though and I was in one of those blocks near the stage, i stood for the whole show but alot of people decided to sit for some of it. its certainly the last time i'll be in a seat for gaga. after being so close to the front in glasgow and then being in one of the blocks in London it was so strange and in seats you feel so left out of the experience.

Perception of a crowd is always driven by those around you - from where I was Saturday seemed like a great atmosphere.

As for people remaining seated, sorry but it's just a waste of time at a Gaga (or any pop) show. May as well just listen to the CD or wait for the DVD (well hopefully). Concerts are supposed to be interactive between artist and audience and are always better with a lively crowd. The atmosphere goes up and generally the artist plays better. Not really sure how this sitting down thing has infested London, it never used to be this way.

Would add anyone thinking London was a poor audience should go to places like Birmingham or Nottingham. More life in a morgue than you get in those cities.

It's well worth heading out to places like Spain or Italy for a show if possible, best audiences in Europe from my experience.

mess at you for thinking your opinion is the only right one.

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Ok in my opinion. But a lively audience can make the difference between a great gig and an average one.

I was block 111 which had a livelier crowd than what you are describing LOL! To be honest though I see what you are saying, I think the show would have been better with standing tickets, as there were a few people sitting through the whole thing. Certain points of the show it was appropriate to sit (you can't expect everyone to stand and dance to all of it - you can't dance to Dope!) but I also can't understand sitting during most of her songs like Venus, G.U.Y, Applause, Swine, her old hits.... Most of it... Also during ARTPOP - surely you want to stand and see her come out and have a little dance along!

I was shaking when she came out! I'm in my mid twenties but felt like a starstruck teenager! Haha!

ARTPOP was magical I've always loved it but Venus was amazing live. I think the setlist particularly at the beginning was perfect!

Haha, I agree... I'm a 30yr old man, reduced to raving mess!! Was amazing ;-)

Maybe just my block had a lot of sitters... But we still partied hard!!

Depends on the city, the size of the venue, if Gaga's been there many times, how many shows she's done there, etc. Obviously, the biggest fans are going to be at the first show and might not have money for later shows, so second dates may seem a bit more sedate as they're taken up more by casual fans. Not everyone wants to stand at a concert, hence why they got seats. But yeah, it must be a bit odd and annoying when some people choose to sit even though it's a really loud song and everyone around them is standing. But some cities just don't have very excitable crowds. Being from Glasgow, I know we have a reputation of being wild at concerts and lots of singers love performing here because you're guaranteed a great crowd. We love our entertainment and love any excuse for a party, so when a concert comes here, we go nuts. Everyone in the stalls was on their feet at the Glasgow artRave, and they were the same back when she did the MB in 2010. And it might also have something to do with the fact that like I said, she hadn't performed here for over 4 years. Scotland was really thirsty for her again, so of course, they were an appreciative audience. In places like London, where she goes every tour for multiple dates, maybe the thirst isn't as strong because she's expected to be there every time. I know I was kinda disappointed with the sedate crowd in London for the BTWB, even though it was one of only 3 UK dates and was in a stadium. My friend said afterwards: "I can see why singers love Glasgow crowds - this was quite boring."

this! last week was so amazing and i think what made the experience more enjoyable was the fact that the whole crowd was going nuts.

I had the opposite experience, meaning I sat first time I went (Thursday) and stood last night. I agree that standing was definitely a better experience and I'm glad I didn't stand first time round. Although when I was seated, as far as I could see in my block and the ones surrounding me, there were a lot of people standing and dancing anyway.

Sitting seats are for people who want to sit. You can still have fun and enjoy the show while sitting!

That's why I just buy GA tickets. You're not blocking anyone's view and everybody is jumping around.
