Economy 52,844
It probably does to a small extent, but compared to health issues caused by cigars it is miniscule. I think a lot of people mix weed into cigars, so that is obviously not healthy at all since you are inhaling it so deeply. However marijuana is proven to have many health benefits, sooo it's a small trade off, plus it doesn't have to be smoked. i still have a hard time believing something that relaxes u that much and makes u high like that can be so harmless. All the time we only find out about stuff many years later theres probably more side-effects than are currently known that being said i support its legalization cuz if ppl are gonna do it anyway, the Governmnt might as well legalize it so it can tax it and regulate it
Economy 52,844
I think they should legalize it to tax it, but I've been hearing about Canada's ordeal with some company or the government basically wanting to grow themselves and have the exclusive "rights" to it. hahaha I do like alcohol- gin to be exact- in comparison to weed. I don't feel like smoking a joint to relax usually. I'd rather have a gin and tonic. :O That's what I think they're trying to do with weed. Very interesting! I didn't know that they did in fact do that with alcohol. We have so many small party store type things and that's what Michigan is worried about in terms of individuals opening dispensaries now that something to do with Canada wants to try doing that in Michigan. Or Michigan likes the idea of it? I'm not totally sure. It's just a brief discussion I had. i havent heard anything about Canada having exclusive rights to sell it. i only heard about the opposition party wanting to legalize it so it can regulate it and tax it. The whole exclusive rights thing is probably a proposition someone made im guessing and the alcohol thing isnt Nation wide. My Province (Ontario) decided to take ownership of alcohol and now only they sell it and they charge a fortune for it. Ontaruio is also starting its own retirement fund so more taxes, yay  Ud be surprised at how much power Canadian Provinces have. Its not just laws... a high percentage of taxes and Government spending is from Provincial Governments. They also have a huge impact on the economy. Ive been compararing and if u look at it, Canadian Provinces probably have more power in many ways than US States at this point. Thats why i dont know if theres much point in the Federal Government legalizing it cause Provinces would just block it, unless they wrote it into the Countries constitution as a human right or something
Cupid 760
I'm just gonna put it here: If alcohol "became a thing" today it would be illegal and banned and demonized to death. It's all about culture and traditions. This idea that weed is the most terrible thing you can do has to stop. I'm here for legalisation.
FATCAT 60,888
Weed should be legalized federally, and let the states decide. This kitten over here (meow)
Goosey 3,017
I think they need harsher punishments, nobody takes "weed" seriously... how about they start treating it the same as trafficking c-----e, get caught in possession of marijuana, get 15 years no parole. Let's see who buys it then. "I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. kyleaustin 0
i don't think it should be legal, but that's just me. making it legal would make it more accessible for young kids to get it, (even tho ppl will argue they can get it anyway)
