Canada's largest Mental health/Addiction Centre (CAMH) has shown its support to legalize pot

IT argues its failing to prevent people from taking it anyway, its only making users broke because of high black market costs, the Government is loosing revenue, and this way the Government could also regulate its potency

Leader of the Liberals Justin Trudeau (Canada's current opposition party) has also pledged to fight to legalize it should he be elected in 2015.

Provincial Governments however have power to block that and still make it illegal in their Province unless it was written as part of the Countries constitution

Not sure how I feel about making it "legal."

The laws regarding it need to be loosened extremely but I still believe it should remain some form of taboo and illegal to perhaps sell?

Aren't they shutting down individual medical growers, so that the government or major companies can take over and get the profits?

I was just told something about it, but I'm not clear. Apparently they're trying to do something like that in Michigan too? No idea.

I think many people would gladly pay more for it from growers or dispensaries than less from a major company or government.

But yes, legalize it.  :classy:

Princess Die

It would be so much better. More money for government, more room for the true criminals in our prisons, and let's not forget the end of unnecessary bloodshed from the cartels. But the world leaders can remain ignorent if they want. :Spin:

Nod if you wanna make love with the enemy. ❤

Honestly, I don't smoke often at all, however if alcohol is legal, weed should be legal. I prefer alcohol, but it certainly is more dangerous.

Aren't regular cigars way worse than weed?

Smoking just about anything is worse than weed. :P Plus there are many other ways for people to achieve the effects of the thc or cbd.

well, weed affects ur state of mind way more than cigars so its doing something to you. i wouldnt be surprised if it actually does more harm than they currently are aware of

of course, i wouldnt compare it to hard d--gs

You underestimate the bond of hippies/smokers/etc. :P

If alcohol isn't produced by the government I don't think weed should be either. But until it's legal I doubt there will be much to talk about with that. We're still dealing with the legality of dispensaries in MI. Everything is a grey area in the part that I live in. Downstate a lot of places have decriminalized it.

It's not all that expensive in a lot of places anyway. A place I was at yesterday was $13 for a gram of "good" stuff. Colorado's prices have gone up certainly though.

yes they should legalize it!! there's a dispensary right up the street from where i live plus washington (our neighbours on this end of the country) already legalized it!

just walking out from my parkade i smelled that someone blazed there near the entrace.. the people who live below me also smoke up from time to time, and i've caught another guy on my floor openly lighting up the second he got out of the front entrance to the building.  everyone here does it.. might as well make it legal

i've had a bunch of friends who get into real nasty fights while drinking liquor, yet i've never heard of anyone that i know of getting into huge fights or accidents while baked.. for me and many others i know we have much better control while stoned as oppose to while we're drunk yet alcohol is sold openly and legally

lol the Government legalizing it doesnt mean they would grow it. they would merely tax it

And if u like alchohol that much, be glad u dont live where i live!

Only the Governmet is allowed to sell alchohol and they charge a bloody fortune for it! we only have 2 alcohol stores. The beer store (for beer only) and the LCBO which is general liqu both owned by the Government  :duck:

f*ck Ontario :grr:

It probably does to a small extent, but compared to health issues caused by cigars it is miniscule. I think a lot of people mix weed into cigars, so that is obviously not healthy at all since you are inhaling it so deeply.

However marijuana is proven to have many health benefits, sooo it's a small trade off, plus it doesn't have to be smoked.

I feel weed should be legal but there should be restrictions as to where it's done, even more so than with cigarettes because cigarettes don't get you and the people in your vicinity high. Oh, and the children? What will become of them

I think they should legalize it to tax it, but I've been hearing about Canada's ordeal with some company or the government basically wanting to grow themselves and have the exclusive "rights" to it.

hahaha I do like alcohol- gin to be exact- in comparison to weed. I don't feel like smoking a joint to relax usually. I'd rather have a gin and tonic.

:O That's what I think they're trying to do with weed. Very interesting! I didn't know that they did in fact do that with alcohol. We have so many small party store type things and that's what Michigan is worried about in terms of individuals opening dispensaries now that something to do with Canada wants to try doing that in Michigan. Or Michigan likes the idea of it? I'm not totally sure. It's just a brief discussion I had.

(Move to Michigan, it's medically legal, and we have cheap booze.)
