I get it, she lost the case, but she has a life and family. How is she supposed to pay 1.4 million? Let it go. Yeah this, the backfire isn't really necessary. The case being dropped is fine enough. But the central problem is that the songs sound nothing alike, outside of repeating "Juda" or "Judas". The Bellamy Brothers admitted this after they sued Britney for having a song with no similarities but a similar title. It is free publicity. Artists making legal threats should ultimately pay a consequence. Otherwise, it encourages this behavior. 1.4 million is excessive though. I understand trying to regain some of the money lost fighting the case, and I understand the importance of deterring others but she doesn't have 1.4 million and Gaga is doing alright for herself. Make her pay a smaller sum that isn't going to financially destroy her and her family. Surely they can work out a sum that she can actually pay, a sum that is of great expense to her, but isn't completely crippling. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
