She didn't lie. Half this fan base shades ARTPOP for being "edm trash."

And if a predominantly gay fan base is saying that, I don't want to know what the GP thinks.

Oh yeah, the GP thinks edm isn't "real music."

I don't agree with this sentiment and I know Gaga doesn't either (although I think she's beginning to see faults with it), but the public absolutely is over the electronic dance music era.

We've all know this for a while. Let's not act appalled.

I just thought it wasn't great EDM music on the whole except a few songs.  Not that EDM is trash.   I've never seen half the fanbase calling EDM music trash.

Don't go all Sam Smith on us.  Come home to the Mother Ship, Gaga.  My fellow Bowie devotees and I have been waiting for this type of music and song, avant-garde with piano, using your classical Piano training and unique songwriting and theatricality..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fHoMw8tCzo

she didnt say that she will do tipe of music that sam does.

at the end of the day we need to accept that edm music is dead and move on(i am kinda happy because of it,even tho i love it)

but i hoppe that finnaly music will have real instruments in it.

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

I can't wait for her next album. This sounds promising.

PRAYING she doesn't go full-on ballads and gives us some Summerboy slayage. Or maybe even some Rock. That would be nice.

I am so excited, but push it away and try not to even remember she has one coming out.  I don't want to have high expectations and be disappointed.  One day I just want it to be out and not realize it and then listen to it with fewer expectations that have been built up for weeks or months, and then hopefully be blown away.

I am in the same pickle..:::wink:::
The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Adele came out.  Lorde came out.  Sam Smith.

And Lana came out marching to her own beat, ignoring the trends this album, standing strong on what she wanted to do.  I think Ultraviolence was very forward thinking and very organic and unique, with then great sound production and guitar. It was a stunning soundscape from Lana.  Gaga had to take notice of that, that Lana did something very old school, yet avant-garde, and thought, oh, wait, my crown is slipping on being ahead of the game musically and unique.

Well Gaga said that she wanted to show a new R&B side of her to the GP. Also one of the reasons why she is enjoying Jazz so much is beacuse her creative freedom and vocal talent is not as restricted.

Does it really? That's why Do What U Want got released instead of Venus. :smh:

I truly think she does have creative compassion, but she's also a pop star, it's her job to say things like this and make money. Her artistry comes first when it can and is convenient, but otherwise no. She isn't dumb, she wouldn't ruin her career by allowing the artistry to flow all the time. In some cases I don't think it's good for creativity's sake either.

She needs to stop talking about her past and future music and draw attention to C2C.

Her next single release should do the hyping and talking for her.

It's the truth. EDM was at its peak from 2009-2011 and has been declining in popularity ever since.

if anything it's only gotten bigger since 2011. calvin harris, aviici, loads of edm songs in different genres. you've got to be kidding or delusional

Don't do that Gaga, don't go start saying that electronic music isn't 'authentic'. Because I will be so mad if that's something you start tootin' about just to gain favour for Cheek to Cheek.

I highly doubt Gaga even paid attention to that album. And the only reason she is singing Jazz right now is because tony asked her to and because she has always liked that kind of music. Also BTW already had that electro/organic mix before any of the artists you mentioned. Finally,

is not like we know exactly what she is making next.

I would love Gaga to do a balls to the wall rock/alt album with a some techno thrown in.

I have been thirsting for Gaga to do alt-rock/industrial stuff, however...

Gosh, Gaga has never sounded so boring. I hate Sam Smith. he tries too hard imo. I knew her hanging out with Tony Bennett was going to turn out like this. She's sounding like a 80 year old.

So let's look at this statement. She's throwing shade at her entire fanbase. She doesn't think we connect with ARTPOP or BTW because they're electronic and we just like those records because we were being trendy?? So all of this time she was just being trendy instead of authentic herself? So when she told all that crap on Oprah that she wanted to find discover her new sound for ARTPOP was just a big pile of bull****? She just built the songs like that because to be ~trendy? (and in that case she failed).

Seriously...I don't even know what to say, or to think anymore. She is constantly making me feel like this whole "Lady Gaga" thing was just a fantasy, a fad, a product that she's ditching because it's no longer profitable.

Wow Stefani...you're leaving me speechless in the worst way possible. Lady Gaga would never be so superficial and judgemental about music. Electronic can be deep too. You just have to be good at it, sweetie.

**** this. **** her for saying this. Sam smith's voice makes me

wanna vomit. Not even the Gods that are Disclosure made me like that *beep *beep.

i agree so much. She seems contrived, like it was all just one big fat lie

On the contrary, EDM is still hugely popular however Gaga didn't make anything that really made it belong in the genre.

I personally was expecting something more house or garage inspired, or maybe more Zedd like, however we got primarily a pop/(insert weak attempt at genre) album.

I bop to most of ARTPOP but it's not really strong pop or another genre to be extremely appealing.
