Lady Gaga: Being the biggest is not equal to being the best

Her approach to these classics is too much her own to cross over to his audience. And her “monsters†are a dance-obsessed army who hoped that ARTPOP’s follow-up would bring her back to her Bad Romance days. It’s unlikely that this collaboration will rescue her from her sales slump.

...or you know, we could just genuinely find her interesting, think she's talented and hope for quality material. Way to generalize. And it's so annoying that these writers often feel the need to drag Gaga and/or her fans in some way as a pretense to offering some kind of underhanded praise. Anyway, this was very think-piece-y, and they couldn't even be bothered enough to get "Just Dance" right. Meh.

What sales slump, though?? ARTPOP sold more than Bangerz and Lana Del Ray's album, but you don't see people saying they are struggling. Music critics need to do their research more often. And a lot of Tony's fans already said they really enjoy Gaga's vocals. This article is just overgeneralized trash. It marginalizes Gaga's fan base into one genre, and the reality is that she has fans who love all different types of music, just like any other artist with a massive following.

On the flip side, I do agree with what Gaga said, although that is sort of common sense. I'm happy she's realizing that, though :)

I feel like Gagaz is shading someone ( not going to mention her name because it'll be a mess, lol).

Why can no one comprehend that neither of them are doing this for the sales :smh:

Obviously if they wanted a huge sales boost, Tony would have worked with a safer choice, someone with a more famous voice and less controversial with adult contemporary listeners. Like Adele or something.  And Gaga would have worked with other pop stars or rappers. Their pairing is just too unusual, too misaligned at first impression, to be a mere moneygrab. A duo as different as Tony and Gaga would only choose to work together because of genuine musical chemistry.

Please grasp this, media.
