I'm Scottish, and this Thursday will be my first ever vote. I'm unsure as hell as to what I'm going to vote for, I used to be strong No but now I understand the Yes campaign so much better, so I'm swaying.

I'm nervous to see what comes from it all. There is no right choice, really.

the yes voters act like the rest of Britain (basically just Westminster, so England) have been enslaving scots for centuries and ****, like no the UK has helped Scotland, and apart from the north sea oil I haven't really heard a very substantial plan for how the Scottish government plans to pay for anything.

 

of course it's way bigger than 'attention seeking', but going independent is such a big decision and it's so stupid when yes voters act like Scotland will have a bigger economy than the USA if they go independent. Throughout all the articles and news broadcasts and speeches, the common theme of 'Scottish pride' is there, which is bull**** because Scotland is as much a part of the UK as England Wales and Northern Ireland. As soon as Scotland goes independent, the UK wont be able to help it out anymore, you'll be on ur own.

Oh I agree with you completely. These reasons are partly why I'm still an undecided voter. Your wording made me think you were ignorant, so sorry for misunderstanding your point.

 

nah it's not like I'm completely educated on the subject, but it's a lot easier for the yes campaign to sway Scottish people because they can refer to the economic problems in Scotland and just blame Westminster, but in reality English politicians and Scottish politicians are all the same and with independence there will still always be pockets of unemployment, and other economic problems that  no government can fix entirely.

It is scaremongering, a lot of companies have said "they will pull of the Scotland if they come independent" and a lot have said it because 'Better Together' have said it

It is westminister's fault the country is the state it is in, It's cause of Thatcher and her shutting down all the industries in Scotland. Tony Blair was getting the country back into shape before 9/11 happened then again he tried, then he stepped down, Gordon Brown took over, he was in a year before the economic crisis happened due to an American Bank going bust (an after effect of 9/11) Then in 2009 the MP expenses scandel happened which put Tax Payers money to something that wasn't necessary, Then in 2010 the tories were elected and cuts were instanty made, VAT was increased putting pressure on families already struggling to pay for food. Then the Government made unnecessarly welfare changes (Child Benefit, Bedroom Tax) meanwhile a lot of people are going to foodbanks due to parents unable to feed their children, due to unemployment or Zero Contract Hours.

While in the Scottish Parliament was helping families - Free Prescriptions, More Free Childcare, Free tution fees that is helping out families. So it's a force of good and bad.

I mean if we can have government in we have right now in Edinburgh in a independent country Child Poverty and Food banks would start to disappear.

I won't be defending the badly executed trams project but yes, I'd rather be a part of this country than of the UK with the situation I described before.

I'm not interested in the possibility of a privatised NHS or having to pay for my tuition fees. I'm not interested in being under the rule of a government I didn't vote in, that fails to meet its aims miserably, that would rather spend money on nuclear bombs than on the poor, that introduced the bedroom tax......... the list goes on.

I've yet to see an argument of the No campaign that actually holds any standing
