Blacklight/UV at artRAVE?

Featured Posts

My dates are coming up and I have only seen tiny snippets of the show here and there.

From this I can't really tell if there are any blacklights in the audience. Are there?

I'm planning on incorporating neons in my look that would light up in blacklight, but if there isn't any, it wouldn't look as good.

I will be in LMZ and GA, no idea where to stand yet.

Not at all? Ai, have to reconsider my outfit I guess. Kinda strange for a rave not to have blacklight.

It's not an actual, literal rave, you know? :flop:

I just bought some glowsticks and cut them open and painted areas of my clothing (or lack there of) with the liquid inside of the glowsticks.

If you do this, make sure you do it right before heading to the show as it only lasts for 3-4 hours tops.

anything that glows under blacklight will glow! its purple lights

It's not the color that makes the glow. Black lights emit UV radiation and little or no visible light. A purple colored bulb will just make things look purple. There is an exception to this, but it's not worth getting into because it doesn't apply to the artRave as I went and know the lighting.

As I said above, if you want to glow, and this is your best way to glow in such a compact setting anyway - even if there were black light at the show - You need a Phosphorescent paint. I went with glow sticks which contain Phosphorescent paint in them as a cheaper option but you can get actual paint that lasts up to 12 hours and you will glow without any UV light all night.

Ok some say there are, some say there aren't? Maybe it depends on where you stand?

Blacklights from the side of the catwalk would not have surprised me. Especially when I've seen so many rave outfits on monsters in white and neon. Wonder what happened to all their leather and studs from two years ago.

Haha, I know and it totally doesnt sound like one, but it sure is 'dressed up' as one. And since the catwalks are kinda blueish...

Buy a mini blacklight
