It really wasn't a joke about domestic abuse.

The whole snippet was distasteful though.  They pretty much said said that the whole domestic abuse issue goes out the window just because the girl got together with the boy in the end.  I've seen many victims of abuse stay in the relationship in fear of getting hurt again.  Faux News at it's best.
