Don't listen to the Canadians! They have no business meddling, they are exactly like the English as they just look at their situation with Quebec and say "hmm we don't want Quebec separating so I guess Scotland shouldn't separate either". 

 

99% of Canadians know little or nothing about UK politics, note the letter writer said almost nothing apart from "Quebec didn't separate", "don't separate", "please don't separate", just rambling and opinion from foreigners, no facts.

 

Get a letter from some members of the Bloc Quebecois and they'll plead for you to separate.

Very true. Our allies (as well as our fellow UK friends and families) who are truly passionate and care about Scotland want us to maintain the union and I think that should be taken into consideration. Our enemies, on the other hand, want us to break apart. When Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un support your ideals, I'd highly recommend that you reconsider them. Those men don't speak their views on other countries out of passion: for them, every country is competition and they relish the concept of a country failing. If they support Scottish independence, they must believe that only bad things can come of it. The thought of two leaders with some of the most notorious nuclear military systems in the world stating that little ol' Scotland would do just fine on its own makes my blood run cold. This is where the fear of an independent Scotland being viewed as sitting ducks arises. Seriously, if Putin and Jong-un's support isn't a massive wake-up call for yes voters, I don't know what is.

Scotland's future is pretty bleak if it chooses independence. The European union will drain Scotland until it's poor whilst trying to deal with the backlash of having many English companies leaving Scotland. The best bet for the Scots is to try and gain independence if the UK leaves Europe (which its hopefully going to do a little later this decade) and allow finances and businesses to balance out a little so neither the UK or Scots will suffer much.

Don't believe that little power hungry man, he just wants to be in charge of something. Don't let your "pride" blindly lead you into a mess.

Won't this have major consequences for Scotland, and possibly other areas, as it will be on its own if it gains independence?  I don't really know about economics and such in that part of the world; however, I'm sure it's not a walk in the park to just separate from the UK..
