ByeBye49 161
What kind of job is she doing at 15 years old? Technically, the company can just pay her $6.21 if it's low skill. Not sure, I'll have to ask her.
CaliLilMonster 476
I'm sorry, you work at McDonalds. If you want a better job with better pay get better skills and education. The world shouldn't reward you for being an unskilled worker. You have to work for better pay... Also I'm looking for a job, I'll gladly replace you with minimum wage. That's kind of rude, and not everyone CAN get a better job. There still needs to be people doing "unskilled" work, and they still need to make a living and be able to survive. Are you trying to say that people at McDonald's don't work?
thefamebitch 834
Unpopular opinion: you don't deserve $15 an hour if you're working at McDonalds. If you don't think you're earning enough, quit & aim higher than McDonalds as your primary income.
feelitinmybones 0
I am disgusted by half of the comments in here. I work in fast-food and believe me if I was able to afford to go to a school I would. I wake up at 4/5 am, travel an hour to get to work and work 8-12 hour shifts to save up for school, and because it was the only job I could find. And the work is all physically tiring. It is fast paced and you wouldn't believe the amount of people that get fired for not being able to keep up. Even the owner who came in and was trying to help us couldn't keep up. Not all of us are lazy. Most of the people I work with work 2 or 3 jobs to survive. Just because our parents didn't (or couldn't) set up a trust fund for us doesn't mean we are less deserving. I am not saying that we are at all in comparison to a doctors work or any other work that requires extensive years at a college/university, but we deserve more credit than all you messes of people are giving us. I worked both retail and now fast food, and believe me fast food is four times the amount of work than retail. I say at $12.50 would be a much more reasonable wage. You're acting like people are thinking "mm no I'm not gonna go to school and become a lawyer I'll just flip burgers for people all day"

People can't just "get an education" It actually costs money. I am working to save up to go to college. And you have no idea the amount of people who actually can't keep up with working in fast food environments, people get fired all the time where I work for not being fast enough, not being able to do the physical work constantly, etc. Not everyone has a parent who is rich that can afford to send them to school, in case you didn't know that. DrewStevens 5,249
The main problem in America is that everyone overreacts to their problems. Everybody here in the US needs a reality check in the third world. McDonalds workers in Mexico get paid less than a dollar.

You're acting like people are thinking "mm no I'm not gonna go to school and become a lawyer I'll just flip burgers for people all day" That doesn't excuse the fact that McDonalds is bare minimum labor. I can think of many lower-entry jobs that deserve $15 an hour but aren't paid even near that amount. You should get paid for what the task is worth not about what is right and wrong. So you're just gonna ignore the cost of living difference between Mexico and the US right? Obviously the third world is worse off than the first workd and something needs to be done about that two, but it has nothing to do with what minimum wage in the US should be. Paper Planes 340
$15/hour is asking way too much, but $10/hour is definitely not out of the question. We all look down on retail and fast food workers, but when it comes down to it, they do much more work and put up with more **** than you'd ever imagine. Don't tell them that their work isn't worth at least $10/hour unless you've been in their shoes. The main problem in America is that everyone overreacts to their problems. Just because another country is having financial problems doesn't mean that we can't improve the lives of those in our own country delete it fat
