All I said was don't be surprised because it's a Southern state and then you came at me with all this crap. While yes, there are a few exceptions with other conservative states, a majority of Southern states strongly oppose same-s-x marriage due to religious beliefs. Which is why I'm not surprised by this judge's ruling.

Virginia was part of the Confederacy yet it's not southern enough for you?

VA is a southern state lol.

And if you wanted a refresher on the Bible Belt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_Belt  (hint: Virginia (with the exception of the DC metropolitan area) is included!)

Also I forgot Indiana which is also considered to be apart of the Bible Belt (mostly). Oh and also you completely skipped over Arkansas which stuck down its ban on same-s-x marriage the other month.

If you're having trouble keeping up with current events, this link may help you. Look at the map. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-s-x_marriage_in_the_United_States

yeah wasnt richmond virginia the capital of the confederacy?

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.
