I think you can make an argument that contemporary Christianity ignores those aspects of the Bible... the Hillsong-esque churches are the new Christianity. No... that's exactly what I said. He obviously wanted to make his parents look bad. If you listen closely, his dad is more angry that he called him a racist on facebook than anything about being gay. And his mom just asked him to move out - it was the kid who said "so you're disowning me." Hey, lots of over 18s are asked to move out over isses without being shunned for life. And sometimes, the individual is not to blame. Can you people seriously not see than religion DOES have to power to make innocent people hateful?!?!?! I am in no way saying that all bigoted theists wouldn't be bigoted if it weren't for religion. All I'm saying is that SOMETIMES religion is a force for evil and not good. Get a grip. It just hurts so much to think that your parents could tell you this if they were SO into religion. I can't even begin to imagine what this guy is going through and have to start from scratch on his own. I wish he just gets his life together and if his family is able to love and support him again, they should. Btw, did anyone else at first listen to the guy and thought it was a woman talking ? I would object to my gay child renting a room with a gay landlord. Out of experience with them in Europe they just get off on having a young gay kid around the house and listening in to their s-xual escapades and parading his own young dates around. I wouldn't want my kid to live like that tbh. I mean if they had good intentions, why make it clear that they're gay and that they prefer gay tenants? What's wrong with straight tenants? They haven't made any s-xual advances on me and have been nothing but respectful, professional, and hospitable. I live in the basement, and they live on the 2nd floor. I can't hear their s-xual escapades and I'm sure they can't hear mine. They never even asked me if I had a boyfriend or if I were to bring people home. This is why conservatives make me cringe and why I feel negatively about religion. And you can tell me all you want that this isn't how "real" Christians treat people, but guess what, it is! I'd be a rich man if I had a penny for every bigoted thing that comes out a Christian's mouth in the name of the lord.i know ppl who are Jehovas Witnesses. They believe every human has sinful tendencies and wrong disires but you shouldnt act on them... They dont think its anyones fault forbeing gay but then that doesnt mean they should act on it either They also believe that while its unscriptural to act on homos-xual desires, its also wrong and unscriptural to be disrespectful or mistreat gays because your suppostu teach them in a loving way. The Bible literally teaches Christians to hate gays, beat their slaves, kill their adulterous wives, kill their misbehaving children, etc. Christianity is an extremely barbaric religion and anyone who reads the bible knows it.what load of crap are u making up? The bible never says to kill misheaving children. It also never says to hate someone whos gay it merely comdems the act Lastly the bible never says to kill an adulteror. That was a law isrealites were under "mosaic law" which required that but a lot of laws the bible even says werent Gods laws but laws humans added... The bible spoke of that law but it never said it should be done The bible even says that its Gods job to judge not humans It never tells u to kill anyone in fact it comdems murder. I know cuz i have many family members who are christian and i know quite a bit about the bible and these things simply arent stated the way ppl say it is! So doesn't his mother see it's genetic, that's there's a "male loving gene" that Daniel inherited from her. He got attacked by his family and get disowned, but people have donated like $93K to support him. Read the story.
